Hi, we are coming to Pop Century resort on July 8 for two and 1/2 weeks. I was told by a Disney employee that the fridge they rent is very small. Does anyone have a smaller 18" to 30" fridge we could rent? And/or a small Microwave? toaster oven?
Or any suggestions?

I think, but I could be wrong, but all of the resorts have a fridge in them. All of the places I have stayed at have fridges in them. Granted the resorts that aren't DVC have much smaller fridges, but they still have enough room for drinks and snacks. Like I said in the beginning I could be wrong based on my hotel experience, but I hope I helped you.

Actually the values do not have fridges - you have to rent them if you want one. I don't understand what the OP is asking, but if it's one of those sharing thingies, this board does not participate in those.

Really, I never knew that, but like I said I have only stayed at DVC resorts except the Grand Californian hotel least year and that is why I said that. Anyway thanks for that never knew they didn't have a fridge.

feature vs. option
Disney theory is that the fridge is considered a feature at a mod & delx resort but rather an option at a value (for a fee, unless justified for medical reasons). We've had a fridge in our room at Pop without requesting it or paying for it.... than again it was in January :p

We stayed at POP 3 weeks ago and as the other members stated, the rooms do not come with a fridge. I took a cooler and kept it filled with ice (Ice machines on each floor) and it kept everything nice cold. You can refill daily if needed and the a/c is so good in the rooms the melt factor was very very slow. The food court has microwaves and toasters that available for use to all guests. If you are looking to save money, you can utilize these options for no cost at all. Having said that, I did have a dinning plan so I did not need to do much with the food beyond a few poptarts in the morning.

good tip on the microwave and toasters at the food court. does anyone know if there's a constant line to use them or are they available most of the time? The cooler is an option, and good point on the a/c keeping the room cool to slow melting. Just thought the fridge would make it a little easier and thought someone out there in that area may rent them or know someone that would. Hey think, spend $180 on a fridge, rent it for $50-$75, get in paid off in 3 rentals. Or maybe someone bought one for the same thing and doesn't need it anymore. just ideas.

The lines at the food court for the toasters and microwaves has been minimal when we have been there...although we are up early for the emh's. The fridges they rent at Pop are the small dorm fridges, they look like squares. If you are driving it might be cheapest for you to stop at a WalMart (or similar type store) and grab one. I think they rent at Pop for about $15 a night..so for 2 1/2 weeks you are looking at roughly $200.

How "cold" do you need your items to be? Ice is free (so long as ice machines are available and functioning) and a couple foam coolers would only cost you a few bucks. It's more than sufficient for beverages, and other food items like sandwiches can be kept in Ziploc bags/containers to keep them dry. Just an idea.:sohappy:

That is exactly what this board doesn't participate in.

I have never seen a line at the toasters and microwaves in the food courts, and we're in there at a lot of different times of day. The line is always for the coffee machine's in the mornings
