Frequent Visitor, How to make Bday Special?

We are very frequent visitors of the WDW parks. We go about every two weeks and spend a day, some months it's weekly. We've been known to just get bored at home and decide to go for the day.

So even though we go ALL THE TIME my daughter who is turning 9 doesn't want a party but wants to take her best friend with her on her birthday. My lil one is not a princess girl so all the princess meals are out. Her favorite Disney character is Capt. Jack Sparrow, so I was thinking of surprising her and her bestie the night before with matching pirate costumes nice light weight ones I'd have my seamstress friend make for them each trimmed with their favorite color and then starting the morning with the Pirate League make over.

The only other part of WDW besides the POTC area she really loves is the The Land in Epcot but we are having Mothers day dinner in the rotating restaurant so with her bday just a month after it won't be so special a second time.

She also loves Tinker Bell but there isn't anything except the meet n greet for Tinker Bell to do wish there was a fairy character meal we'd book that quite often. The new princess Merida has also caught her interest since she's a tomboy princess that does non girly things my daughter is totally in love with her and the movie hasn't even come out yet. I think she'll be in the park already so we'll do that MnG.

Any other ideas or tips to make the day extra special for my daughter. Is there some way inside one of the parks to have birthday cake without having a sit down ADR type meal.

Thanks in Advance for any tips or suggestions! I feel like as often as we go I should be able to plan something special but I'm at a loss except the pirate make over thing.

Birthdays in Disney are special in and of themselves! You can call the Disney Bakery at (407) 827-2253 and see if they will deliver a cake to you in the park if you don't have an ADR. I just had my daughter's 15th birthday and the cake was phenomenal. Another option is the Walt Disney World Florist...407-827-3505 or www.WaltDisneyFlorist.com they have so many options and the flowers we chose were fresh, beautiful and delivered exactly when and where we asked in the park.
Maybe you could have a pirate themed arrangement delivered to your house prior to your departure? I love the costume idea and the pirate league! Let us all know what you decide. Sounds life fun no matter what! Stacey

I know they use to have a pirate cruise just for the little ones from Port Orleans. It looks like a lot of fun but she might be too old for that. You can call and check it out.

Also thinking she might like 1900 Park for supper. The step sisters are there. They are so not "princessy". Just some thoughts.

Thank you both for the replies.

We've done 1900 Park Fare when she turned 4 she wants another cake like we had there but pirate themed but won't step foot in the Cindy dinner..LOL.
I would of loved to the boat thing but she's scared to death of boats not on tracks.. we only get to do the ferry to and from TTC because the monorail scares her more and I fibbed saying the ferry was on tracks.

I have figured it out though.. I got them into the Pirate League, the matching outfits will get started tomorrow when I call my friend up with their measurements and fav. colors. She's actually a costume designer for a theater company so she's going to go all out and make them hats, eye patches etc.. all trimmed in their fav. colors.

I called up the cake hotline today and found that I can get the cake she wants made and picked up at the Boardwalk bakery so we'll go that route so she has just what she wants pirate themed. She loves the pizza place right on the board walk as well so we'll head there when we are done in the parks have dinner of pizza and her birthday cake on the boardwalk.

She'll be happy.. we'll pin her birthday pin to her hat so it's more visible and she'll get lots of attention I'm sure. Her friend going has only been to WDW a few times so I bet that will add a little something for my daughter too being able to show her friend all the "cool" places.

Thanks again for the responses.

What about something like a scavenger hunt to take them around a park? (or all the parks). You could pick things found in attractions like a smiling crocodile (Peter Pan) or things found in gift shops like a desk bell (ToT shop). You could even see how many CM's you can get photos with from different states or countries (since their hometowns are all on their nametags). It might be a different way of touring around.

If you have a list of challenges for them - things to do or find and get a photo of each one it could make for a cute little photo album or scrapbook.
