I just ordered some yesterday. We order a set for each trip. Helps me visualize and get excited as I mentally walk through the parks. They should of spent some of that nextgen 4 to make an interactive map that lets me smell the popcorn, cinnamon rolls, funnel cakes, etc...

They give out free maps when you enter the parks!!! Its crazy the level of customer service WDW has. I cannot believe they tell you where everything is.

Yeah but I personally just don't get the point of it. Maps are readily available at the parks. As another person mentioned they are bigger, printed on better paper and look nicer. Again, what is the point? If you take them to the parks they will just get ripped, wet and scrunched up and carrying large maps around will make you look slightly odd.

Nice keepsake when you get home but they aren't practical for use other than decoration at home or a surprise for your kids.

This is just my thought anyway.
Because at 12:20pm, on January 25th, you are thinking back to ur September 2012 trip and bummed because u have nearly 20 months til ur next one. Makes sense now?

And to ur "why not just get a park map" argument. Well I am 720 miles away, so scratch that. And secondly, when i go i take so many maps i may have single handedly bankrupted kodak.

We were at the parks just before Disney MGM became Disney Hollywood Studios and saved a park map as a momento. Sure wish I kept some of the old park maps from the 90s, or even better the Disneyland maps from the 70s!!

I love the maps. I ordered mine about a week ago now and cant wait to get them. I did this for a trip years ago and when they came I was amazed at how beautiful they were and could not bear to bring them with. They make a nice keepsake and I bet the kids will be thrilled to have them as a little souvenir of our upcoming trip in August. It only takes a couple of minutes to do and it is fun. :)

We just ordered a new set for our June trip. I'm excited to see how the new fantasyland looks on the maps. We won't carry them with us, but they will help me with planning.
That's why I get them. Not to carry around the parks. But for planning purposes. As well as just something to look at to get me in the mood. I'm not going until December, so I'm going a little crazy for things to keep me going until then!

We don't take ours with us either. They are to help get the juices flowing even more about the upcoming trip and to reminisce after we get back home.

I like the paper maps too, but I've been spoiled by the disney world map in the mobile magic app. I like having the gps and its also nice to touch an attraction on the map and get an idea of the wait time. Looking forward to the new disney mymagic+ system that is being rolled out this year too.
