I just recently read Passporter 2000. I seen in there that you can get items at WDW that are free such as ( maps, brochures, cups, and so on. What was the most interesting free item you got.

Thanks
Chrissy

The most interesting freebie I ever received was the Diet Coke I got while the "ties" at MK were deciding what to do about the bug in the hot chocolate that DH drank!

I do still have that DC bottle! :animwink:

Now that I think about it, I've gotten several cool freebies...mostly Passholder things. I really liked the free MSEP lithograph from the Passholder farewell. We got some passholder lanyards and a free passholder pin from AK for the 100YOM celebration. At the MNSSHP before last, my family had just gotten off a last minute spin on the Mad Tea Party and we passed some cast members with 10 or 15 cases of trick-or-treat candy & they were giving it out by the handfuls. We came home with our Mickey pumpkins full! Last MNSSHP a nice CM gave me extra in one of the trick or treat lines because I was dressed as his favorite character. The internet exclusive pin was really cool...it was free, but since they were out when we were there we had to pay S&H to have them mailed. Oh, and the Ghirardelli squares they gave out on Halloween night...they were yummy. My best friend snagged one from my leftover treat bag while feeding my pets during my December trip, and loved it so much she snagged my last one for her husband to try! I guess my millionaire prizes count as freebies, too, so a hat & polo shirt and yet another lanyard & pins.... :)

Wow...and an hour ago I didn't think this thread applied to me!

When we were at the Polynesian for Walt's Birthday for the 100 year celebration, the newspaper came with a special folder for his 100th birthday. That was pretty cool. When we went to the hoop de doo years ago we all got mickey kazoo's. The MVMCP photos are priceless. When we took one of the tours we received a carved mickey out of see through plastic and we also received swatches from the costume department from old character costumes!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I had to edit to add this, because I almost forgot! In 1997 they also gave you a poster at City Hall. I have it up in the top closet shelf (since 1997) with the rest of my Disney stash, and I cant remember if it was Mickey and Walt walking hand in hand or not. Does anyone remember what the poster was of? [/B]

I have that poster my AUnt gave it to me for a Christmas present to "remember our trip" its so cool

Here it is in my room (a very bad pic but you get the idea)

Thank you, Tiggerspooh!! I had forgotten after all this time!! Its beautiful, isnt it?? :)

What a wonderful aunt you have!

I just noticed the Sorcerer right at the top of that poster. Now I know I will have to go get it framed since most of my collection revolves around him!

You guys must never have run into good cast members! During my college program, I gave all kinds of free stuff. Our managers constantly reminded us that we had the authority to do that- whether for guest service recovery, or just every now and then to create an extra little bit of Disney magic! My favorite was giving one very special little boy a visor he had his eye on-then he wanted to take a picture with me and get my autograph!

When we went to Disney in 2000 in EPCOT they gave us these two dinosaurs who had their heads together. Only a few of us got it though!
Another good moment is the free stuff for you b-day. I spent my 13th b-day w/my 2 best friends and I got a pin,a call from goofy, a special cupcake at lunch, and lots of cast members saying Happy Birthday to me. It was really a good time!
