Hi

I just recently read Passporter 2000. I seen in there that you can get items at WDW that are free such as ( maps, brochures, cups, and so on. What was the most interesting free item you got.

Thanks
Chrissy

Well, techically not free, but I loved being able to keep my VIP pass from Dine with Shamu.

I also love to get the Maps at all the parks.

You get a free hat at the Garden Grill at EPCOT.

Best freebie, eh? Well, I think that it would have to be the complimentary photo from the MVMCP, technically not free but it has been the coolest "free" thing I got in Disney.

The paper I made at Innoventions.
The lei I made at the Polynesian Resort.

The little cards the photo people give you with the photo number are pretty cute and usually have neat pictures on them.

Maps are cool if you hang on to them long enough. Used to be cooler when they printed new ones each week.:brick:
My Mom gave me her maps and left over tickets from when she went there on her honeymoon back when MK first opened. Those are cool. Oh yeah. The shopping bags are good for taking your lunch in.

I can't pick just one thing. Sorry.

Wait...yes I can!!!
When my husband and I went for our honeymoon, after our first day at the parks we came back to our room and they had left an autographed picture of Minnie & Mickey from their wedding and a white chocolate wedding Minnie& Mickey. By far the coolest "free" things we've ever gotten at WDW.

Ah, yes... this is true and most enjoyable. I like to see how long I can guzzle it down from the nozzle before the CM's throw me out. :hammer: :hurl:

They're not technically "free," I guess, but the napkins at WDW are just the best for packing along with your lunch when you get home!:)

I would have to say the drink coaster in the room with Mickeys face, the shampoo and soap. But one time my Dad was sick when I went years ago, and he stayed in teh room all day. The maid brought him some treats and a Lady and the Tramp picture frame that was very nice. So we thought that was cool. If you tip the maids good or everyday then you get neat things sometimes. I mean it depends on the maid too. I usually make envelopes with "Thank You" on the front and with a picture, sometimes I will write a little note every couple days. This usually results in them leaving extra towels, soap, shampoo, etc....or leaving toys or animals in a posed position, towel animals. Just little touches, but hey they make it fun :)

I think it was Xerox that gave you a free photo in Innoventions. Are they still there? Or what about IBM giving you the chance to send a free photo email?

If you go to guest relations in any park and tell them that its your (or a member of your party) birthday they give you a free pin that has the parks icon on it and says "today is my birthday" then they make you listen to a phone call from goofy wishing you a happy birthday. then all you have to do is wear the pin all day and you get tons of free stuff.
We got:
Multiple free desserts
Moved to the front of a line
Had a bunch of characters and cast members sing to us
And a bunch of other little *disney* things that make everything so special.

The pins are fun to collect from each park and they don't even make you prove it's your birthday!

This is going to sound like a stupid question spiderman.... But when you get the VIP passes. I haven't tried that yet, Do they invite you to the media days for any specific rides? Maybe Mission Space when it opens or anything?
I was just wondering how all that works, Every park has a Media Day for something and i could never seem how to get into one besides the one SWO had for Kraken.

I know this isn't anything big, or wont be a helpfull tip to getting free items... but when it was raining once the foodstand got wet and they were going to throw away the pretzel's so we asked for some and they gave us alot!
It was pretty cool and it was our dinner lol... So if it ever rains or anything just go ask for a pretzels?

The free photo e-mails after JIYI are awesome, except the keyboards are hypersensitive and it took forever to type where you want to send it. Also I LOVE the purple knives at all the fast food style resturants. I don't know why, but I just can't turn down a purple knife. The maps are also wonderful for cutting up and placing in scrapbooks!
