Hi!

I got a quick question. . .

Do the resorts offer free internet acess? Is it one of those things where you have to pay a fee by the day, or is it complementry? I'm staying at Wilderness Lodge, BTW.

Thanks!

It's Disney..so of course it's not free  You can either pay about around 4 or 5 dollars an hour or just pay 10 dollars for a continuous 24 hour time period.

I was going to say that nothin is free at WDW.

Its about $10 per 24 hours and be sure to bring your Ethernet cable.
Enjoy your trip, you are staying at our favorite in all of WDW.

$9.95 for a continuous 24-hour period anywhere on property. You don't need to bring an ethernet cable, there's one in every room and if it's not there mousekeeping will deliver one.

Some areas have Wi-Fi accessibility, but charge the same rates.

So they say, but don't believe it. Its a good thing we keep one in the laptop case, and we were at the WL.

POP had the cable in the room and it was $10.00 for 24 hours. You have to have you credit card on file with the guest services before the tech people will connect you. Once you call and get connected you do not to call back for the remainder of your stay.

Ex: You use internet on Monday at 8:30 am. You have service until Tuesday 8:30 am. You then decide on Friday you want to use it agian. You just log on to your internet and do not need to call them back again. You do not get charged for Wed or Thurs as you did not use the net on those days.

Not sure if thats how it worked for others but that is what the tech guy told me.

An FYI: The internet tech people are miles underground helping you and they are on disney property. Just thought people would be interested in that little tid bit.

I've read a bunch of reviews from stays over the summer at the Contemporary and a lot of people are saying they had computers in their rooms with complimentary internet access. I'm not entirely sure these are concierge level. We always bring our laptop to download pics but rarely ever need to log onto the internet.

Ridiculous. Even the Holiday Inn Express has complimentary internet....with what we pay for Disney rooms, if the service exists, you should be able to use it at no charge. They get you for most other things, this would really be a small concession.

To the person who used the Internet at Pop Century - did you have your own lap top?

I'm assuming you have to have your own lap tops to access the Internet. I don't suppose there's any way you can hire a PC at Pop Century? If I could that, I'd gladly pay. I don't have a laptop that I could take with me.

It's common for the cheaper hotels to offer free internet access to entice people to stay. Most of the higher-end chains (Marriott, Hilton, etc.) charge you about $9.95/day.

It's capitalism at work. If Disney can fill the rooms without giving your free stuff, they're not going to give you free stuff.

I expect, over time, free internet access will work its way into the high-end resorts as well. But that's not the way it is right now.

Yes, WDW should offer free internet service at the Deluxe resorts now, this year.

In the future, they could also have it free at the Moderates and then, eventually, at the Value resorts, too.

All rooms at the Contemporary now have computers with complimentary internet service. However, there does not seem to be any way to upload photos from digitial cameras onto the computers.

We looked to see about access at the Contemporary, and according to Disney's site, it does have free wireless access. We're planning on taking our laptop.....
