Free Dining Question

I am planning on going to Disney for 5 days. If someone were to come with me for just the weekend, say 3 days, will they still get the free dining if everything is booked at the time of promotion? Or do they have to have the exact same package with the 5 day tix?

Everyone in the room has to have the same. We had this issue when one member of our party could only stay for the weekend. In our case, it still came out cheaper for the 4th person than paying for meals...and the rest of us got to use his extra meals (since he still received five days worth) .
*Although... I'm not sure what would happen if you all booked 5 nightss, but got 3 day tix and then added park days on after the other person left. I don't think you have to buy tickets for every day of your stay to get free dining.

Not exactly.

Everyone has to be booked on the same thing. Once the group arrives, the individual park tickets can be upgraded separately. If they purchase three-day tickets for the whole party when booking the package, the folks staying 5 days can upgrade their park tickets with the two extra days and leave the weekend visitor with 3-day tickets.

EDIT to add: The Dining Plan and room rate will have to include all the guests for the full booking. But in the case of the Free Dining, that wouldn't change the overall cost of the room unless they have an "extra" adult in the room [for which the add-on charge would apply for the full reservation].

And the free dining offer would have a required # of ticket days in order to get the promo. Everyone in the same room would have to purchase at least that # of ticket days, but (as has already been stated) if that # of days is less than the length of stay, those staying longer could add days to their ticket after check-in.
