Free dining plan eliminated in 2015????.?

Doesn't Disney want the parks crowded? That's just more money in their pockets, free dining plan or no free dining plan. Free dining plans will also allow guests to spend more money on tickets anyway. And why would increasing ticket prices make more people want to go...so many that they get rid of free dining? It'll be just as crowded whether tickets to MK are $99 or $125. If people want something, they do it.

As there is no real "off" season anymore, free dining may see an end eventually, but right now, it's a way to make sure that rooms get filled. The math behind free dining has people divided, as to whether it is free or not, but that's been covered in other threads, many times.

Here's the good thing about the dining plans, IMO: they limit your spending. It's so easy to lose track of your dollars when you're visiting a Disney park - trust me on this. But with a dining plan, you know how much you've spent and how much more you have to go. I think dining plans are a great way to budget your trip to the parks. I hope Disney never gets rid of them.

With park prices going up, will Disney get rid of the free dining plan to make the parks a little less crowded.
Free Dining, since it is offered only to Disney Resort Guests, is used to fill resort rooms and restaurants.

Eliminating Free Dining during times when resorts need more bookings would hurt the resorts, not the parks.

Not if you would spend less out of pocket which we do.

I do think they will be instituting "Twice the Price" dining during the busier seasons after my intense campaigning to lower the riff raff concentration at the table service locales. I do believe troughs of baked beans garnished with dead dogs will be available for the rabble.

How does this even make sense? The purpose of Free Dining is to fill resort rooms. Why would they want the parks less crowded?

There are a decent amount of folks on this forum that would love to see Disney increase their ticket prices and do away with the free dining. There are other threads on this.
