Free dining pin code

I got an e-mail today with a pin code for free dining!


The catch?...the e-mail came addressed to my ex-boyfriend. Apparantly like 3 years ago one of us signed up to get a Disney dvd and used his name but my e-mail address. So bummed! Although I am getting the deal with the $300 gift card when I go down in two weeks, and I probably couldn't combine the two offers anyways, right? Sigh. It just figures, because I have NEVER gotten a pin code.


Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know about this because it seems like a sign that free dining offering could definitely be starting soon.

Bummer on not receiving it your name! You are correct in that you can't combine the two offers anyways.

Though for the record, if it is the same PIN code offer that I and several others I know received today, it was for free Quick Service Dining Plan for dates through 8/14/2010, and not for the late summer/fall value season.

Does anybody have an idea if/when they are going to announce the free dinning to the general public? I am hoping to get down in November and hope there will be some good deals at that time (if not free dining...something!)

No. Historically they should have already announced it. At this point it could drop tomorrow or never.

Historically, general public discount offers for November have not rolled out until the first day of the late summer value season, which this year would be August 15th.
EDIT: Digging a little deeper, last year offers for November began rolling out in late July.

As for free dining for this year's late summer/early fall season, it was historically announced at the end of March or beginning of April. Since Disney has rolled out a few additional general public and PIN code offers for dates through 8/14/2010, it's likely any announcement for free dining (or any discount) is being pushed back.

That's my thought as well. Someone else mentioned in an earlier thread that it is possible (though probably unlikely) that people have made trip reservations for the Fall in anticipation of free dining, therefore leading Disney to conclude it doesn't need to offer any discounts. That may also play a role in the delay. Or perhaps it will limit the number of discounts that will be available.
