Free Dining: Oct., Nov., Dec!

I thought folks might like to know that we got a mailing yesterday with a pin code on it offering free dining package 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, and 12/14-12/20! Wow!

We are already heading down Dec. 7th (Yippee!) using rented DVC points so can't use it, but would've certainly been tempted if we hadn't been going already.

Anyway, I thought you all might like to know that the potential for free dining is surfacing beyond Sept!

Yup we got the free dining for Nov dates using the Disney Visa. Had to cancel our old reservation and book a package. Wasnt a problem at all.

Im just hoping this doesnt make things overly busy down there.

These offers won't add much to crowds. School is in session, and the offers weren't out 5 months in advance like the usual free DDP, so not as much time for people to plan. They may get more re-bookings of people who were going anyway than new bookings.

I had the same thought - I'm already booked for December and was able to switch to take advantsge of this offer. I'm saving a good bit from my original package, but with increases in airfare, it wouldn't be enough to make me book a trip on the spur of the moment.

But if you were able to find good air on spur of the moment, it'd be great to sneak another disney trip in before the end of the year. And BTW, we just booked air this past week for $131 rt from NYC for december 13-18, so you never know.

Gee whiz and the week that we pick in December the 6-13th they don't offer room dicounts and they don't offer the free dining because of stupid Pop Warner.

I guess we just picked the wrong week. Oh well we'll still be going to WDW so all will be good in our world. :D

We got this offer a few weeks ago because we have a Disney Visa card. We also already had reservations for Dec. 20 - 24. We jumped on this offer vary quickly, too. Saved our family about $1700.00, would have been about $2600.00 but we upgraded resorts.

It made me book a spur of the moment trip for December. Plus I got airfare for $187 round trip from Chicago

I keep checking airfare from Pittsburgh, and can't find anything better than I already have. I paid $250/person round trip (bought my tickets in May), and the same flight is up to almost $600/person.

We booked our trip during one of these time periods through Southwest. Not too familiar with DDP. Can we call to add this to our trip if we booked through Southwest? Thanks

scheat - not sure that will work since you booked outside of Disney. You could call and try.

We went with Disney directly to book our trip, Southwest came out to be $1000 more than Disney and that was with airfare added to the package.

I'm thinking they must really want people to come during these promo periods. I got the e-mail offer in early Sept and just got a reminder not to miss out on this offer.

Exactly. I received my offer through Disney Visa while I was still at WDW on Sept. 19th I believe. I was sick for the whole trip, and thought to myself that I could afford another trip if I stay at Pop Century, so I called. At first I wasn't going to book my flight until I returned to New York, but then I checked flights just to see what they were going for and found a RT ticket for $131 AFTER taxes. I booked it right then and there. The whole trip should cost me about $800.00!

These offers won't add much to crowds.

Seems to be doing wonders for the September season. I've been going the first week after Labor Day for the last couple years now and I've noticed a huge jump in crowds. The first year or two I could walk on to any major attraction, this year I saw waits over 60 minutes and beyond.:dazzle:

I am now trying out January. If there are going to be crowds, then I might as well do it out of the heat and humidity. Hopefully it won't be as hard to get a spur of the moment T.S. dinner. I hate planning my meals six months out.

We booked spur-of-the-moment for December using the Disney Visa offer. Airfare through Disney worked out to be abour $220/person roundtrip from Dallas. Last year, I was able to get airfare for $54 one way! This year, even without a trip planned, I've been watching airfare. I count myself lucky to get it for that price when I'm travelling so close to Christmas (returning Dec 23).

On top of that, we figured "hey, we're in Florida already--let's do a cruise". So, we're arriving a little early to do a 3-day cruise to Nassau before we go to Disney. It's our first cruise (not Disney Cruise Line, unfortunately).

Best thing is: the kids aren't going to know about any of it until we wake them up to go to the airport--AND THEN they won't know about Disney until we start heading that way.
