I don't think they have any intention of cutting back on the discount offers, unless the economy makes a strong recovery,and even then there would be some discounts. They've moved more to an airline-pricing sort of model, where you basically try to charge higher prices to guests who are willing and able to pay them, based partly on when they want to go and how flexible their plans are. As partof this, the price structure for rooms is way more differentiated by time of year and weekday v. weekend than it was just a few years ago. Free dining or other discounts make more sense under this pricing model than they ever did before.If they want to put an end to discounts, they need to totally re-design their price structure for tickets, dining/dining plan, and hotels. Until that happens, they're going to be forced to continue the discounts.
You will be waiting a very long time. There is no incentive for them to offer free dining if you are not paying full price for a room and tickets.Still waiting for the day that us DVC members can get free dining during select times...
