FP Question

Here's my question:

When an attraction opens later than the whole park (e.g., Jungle Cruise), can you get a FP for that attraction before it opens. For example, if JC opens at 10:00 and I am walking by there at 9:30, would I be able to get a FP? If so, would the return window start at 10:00, or would it build in a delay like most attractions do when the park opens?

Thanks for the info.

It probably won't let you get a fastpass until the ride opens.

Anyone else. I have gotten some mixed info on this issue.

I guess the simplest way to state the issue: Do the FP machines give FPs before the ride opens?

Thanks

I would have to agree - join the line and wait for it to open OR get a FP when it does open (Don't forget that FP will start almost immediately the ride opens)

According to FLcastmember you can get a fastpass for a ride before it opens. Here's the quote from his update thread:

generally when attractions with FP have delayed openings, for example JC opens at 10. IF A/L opends at 9, then FP will be distributing for 1025-1125 at park open, if A/L opens at 10, then the traditional 40 min applies,1040-1140. At Splash during the winter, when they last had delayed openings, the same rule applied, at 9am, the return window was 1225-1325. BUT BY 1130, look for the time to be later, as 2.5 hours worth of FP's would have already have been distributed, pusing the return time back.

I actually remember seeing some of the Fast Pass machines not yet operating during the early entry hour. It is possible that the FP distribution staions do not open until the ride itself opens or that the machines simply don't function during the early entry, due to the smaller crowds at that time. ...Just speculating based on some observations. I'd assume if you go to JC at 10 that the line is short enough that you wouldn't want to waste a FP on it anyway.
