FP+ and Baby Swaping

So had this happen to us yesterday. Arrived at Epcot and got FP+ for Soarin'. My wife was with us and we brought the baby. Obviosly the baby can't ride so I took my 5 year old on the ride using our FP+ reserved time while my wife stayed back with the baby and then we planned to get a swap pass so she and my 5 year old could ride again like we always do.

Fast forward to trying to get a swap pass... CM's at the entrance going in told us to get it from the CM's inside the dome getting off the ride (this happens sometimes so no big deal) but when we tried this, those CM's told us we can only get it from the CM's at the entrance to prevent abuse (which I totally understand and am cool with). We went back to the CMs at the entrance who were still the same ones as before getting on the ride and was told we couldn't get a baby swap pass because we used FP+ to ride. I asked the CM "so my wife has to ride solo?" His reply, "yes!" He said if you make reservations with a FP+ you can't baby swap anymore. I asked if this was new and he said they've been doing it this way for a long time. I reminded him FP+ has only been around a short time and he didn't like that. His fellow CM laughed at this which I thought was funny. My wife decided not to ride because she didn't want to ride alone.

Funny this is, we did the same thing for Mission:Space and had NO problems whatsoever.

Has anyone else experienced this? I know this is not the case and probably got someone in a crabby mood or who was having a bad day or new and didn't really understand everything, but come on! Really?

You can start bashing my post.... NOW!

I think it's more a rogue CM enforcing a rule that only exists in their head. Had no trouble getting a baby swap pass while using FP+ on Soarin last month or 7DMT this past Saturday.

HAHAHAHA Fp+ has only been around a short time. Some CM's think everyone is a first time disney guest.

Use to use old tickets with the magnetic strip to get extra fast passes. Computer just read the magnetic strip for that hour im guessing and not the date.
Anyways came back the next year and you guessed it Disney caught on. Asked a CM and he was like Its been like that for a long time. Had to explain this was not my first rodeo. He laughed and came clean told me they changed the system a couple of months ago.

That kid doesn't know what he is talking about...I would be ed. For every ride we had FP for (most of the height restricted attractions) we had to get a baby swap pass because my youngest isn't old enough. Never had a problem. I would have argued or asked for him to get a supervisor or something...

My wife bought me a beer so that made it better. I wrote Disney and shared it with them and included the name of the CM. who knows. Maybe it will get back to him, maybe not. First world problem. Still had a blast as usual.

The policy that the CM gave you is not Disney's policy. Next time you should ask to see a coordinator or supervisor. As a last resort I would go to the Guest Relations and complain. At times CM's either do not understand the policy or are not following policy. I would never walk away without talking to someone higher up

So that I am clear, (because I am getting ready for a trip and we have children who can't ride because of height restrictions) baby swap with fast pass is just like it use to be correct, if you have a fast pass+ schedule you can just go up with the child who can't ride and still get a swap pass right?
