Four Seasons taking over Bonnet Creek

I have just read on another of the forum sites the anouncement of the 2 new Disney partnership developments that have been agreed just recently, both of which include a Four Seasons resort.
The one that get me wondering is the way they say that one of these developments will take over the Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines courses at Bonnet Creek and as it says turn it into a hotel and resort site inclluding a 18 Hole championship golf course.
Does this mean one of the courses will go or deos it mean another course will be built making it a 3 courses resort.
These existing courses are absolutely stunning and have been given national awards and status for there design and condition.
I would hate to think for the structure of Florida Disney World is being changed to allow for Cooperative partnerships to be formed.
Disney has hundreds of unused acres to play with................if Four Seasons want to buy in then let them drain and build to show commitment rather that take over a wonderfull site.

The press release seems pretty clear that the Four Seasons project will replace the two current golf courses:

"Along the northeast border of Walt Disney World Resort, Disney plans to convert its Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge golf courses into a luxury resort and golf community."

You may want to edit the title, as it looks like a misleading fact rather than an opinion.

Disney doesn't like Bonnet Creek, so I wouldn't expect to see BC ever be involved with them in any way.

Well if Four Seasons are developing the 2 courses and installing a Hotel and resort as written in an official Disney press release isn't "taking over" then I do apologise for my most misleading title. I dont see how this can be construde as "my opinion"
The info I was looking for as a golfer was if they were going to develop both courses or just the Eagle Pines course.
Leaving the Osprey Ridge course for us all to enjoy as the most picturesque course in the area.

There are two Bonnet Creek's
The first is back by Fort Wilderness Bonnet Creek Golf which includes the 2 golf courses that are part of the Four Seasons project.
The second is the Marriott Time share off of Buena Vista Drive that is called Bonnet Creek it backs up to CB and Pop this is not on Disney property.
What is in question is the press release says golf course (singular) so we don't know if they are going to tear up both courses and make one or if they are going to use one or the other and Disney will run the one not run by the Four Seasons.

There are no Marriott Vacation Club developments in association with the Bonnet Creek Resort Development area.

I may be dumb, but I find this rather confusing. Don't you need houses on golf courses for a luxury resort and golf community? I would think they would be keeping at least one of the existing courses, but maybe not...I should note I didn't take time to read the press release so if there is something obvious I missing, make fun of me and move on. It won't bother me in the least.

I thought it was pretty clear they are converting both courses into a luxury resort and golf community. Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge will both cease to exist [though I suppose they might retain one of the names].

I see..convert may not mean anything in the physical sense. When I read convert I was thinking of tearing up each course and then hiring Pete Dye to come in and design at least one course. Convert probably just means that Disney is handing courses over to the new development and letting them do with them what they will.

I just returned from the world, and played a wonderful round of golf at Osprey. According to the guys in the pro shop, Osprey will become the "championship course" and Eagle Pines will cease to exist.

Yikes! I'm 37. My parents wouldn't shell out for the cool clothes. They tried to convince me that wearing JCPenney fox shirts were the equivalent of Izod or Polo shirts. They might as well sent me off to school every day with a gigantic card that read DORK hanging around my neck.

You can't be far from me - Might even be within a few miles if you're on the north side of Indy. You really shouldn't be messing around with the internet on a day like today. :lookaroun
