I did a search to see if this has been discussed and while I'm sure it has been, I just got the CD for Father's Day and I love it!!!! It's the 2 disc set that the jacket is red.

What is the general reaction and feeling about this CD?

I have never been to WDW during non-Christmas season so I never to get to hear "regular" WDW music. Is what's on the CD involving "area" music still being played (i.e. Epcot entrance)? I'm going in late Oct, early Nov before xmas season so I'm hoping to see "regular" WDW.....lol

With the exception of Fantasmic, I now have all the park CD collections that I want.

Yes, the Epcot entrance music on the CD is still part of the "regular" music loop!

I collect park music CDs and love this one as well. When combined with the CDs for the fireworks and parades, there is a nice set of music available for present-day WDW.

The "Four Parks One World" CD is very similar to the previous "Where Magic Lives" Official Album edition, but the new tracks such as Nemo, Gran Fiesta Tour, and Reflections of China score made it worth the upgrade to me. Of course, I always keep my older editions for the tracks that don't get carried over to the new ones. There are rumours of a new edition with additional tracks coming out for the 40th.

Of course, the pride and joy of my park CD collection is "A Musical History Of Disneyland", a 6 CD boxed set (still in-print) with a runtime just under 8 hours that includes complete soundtracks to almost every attraction in the history of that park!

My dream is that one day the music of WDW will be treated so lavishly! (there's a lot of overlap with MK on this set, though, such as complete "ride-throughs" and show soundtracks of attractions common to both parks)

Here are links to the DL boxed set and a thorough review:

Is this similar to the Happiest Celebration on Earth two disc CD with the blue cover?

Yes, but all of the "vintage" classic Epcot tracks on that edition have been replaced by the newer, current tracks, never before available on CD*. Also, the Sonny Eclipse track, the "Now Is the Time" CoP track, the Cinderella Surprise track, Digging In Dinoland, and the original version of the Tiki Room theme song is absent as well. Tree Of Life One is missing on the new version, but is still in print on the "Music From Animal Kingdom" CD.

So, here is what has been added on Four Parks, One World to replace these tracks:

"All Aboard the Mine Train" (1:45) - area music for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

"Galactic Anthem" (2:06) from Stitch's Great Escape

"Legacy" (1:43) - Epcot entrance area music

"Spaceship Earth" (10:52) - long score track from current version

"Energy Adventure Medley" (4:48) - Bruce Broughton score from current version

"The Seas With Nemo and Friends" (4:44) - score from attraction plus "Big Blue World" song

"One Little Spark" (2:09) - current version of song

"Honey I Shrunk The Audience Theme" (1:47) - Bruce Broughton score that plays before the film starts and in preshow area

"Canada (You're A Lifetime Journey)" (5:50) - current version of the song with score buildup

"Reflections Of China Suite" (4:04) - highlights of the wonderful Richard Bellis film score (mainly the bits also used for load and unload, with a few others)

"Three Caballeros" (1:26) - the finale of the Gran Fiesta Tour attraction, with vocals just as heard in the ride

"Lights, Motors, Action" (11:12) - pretty much a complete soundtrack of all the music heard in the action sequences

"CTX Theme" (6:14) - instrumental piece heard in the round queue area before enering Dinosaur preshow

*This process of removing the old tracks from the "Happiest Celebration On Earth" version for the newer ones began with the "Where Magic Lives" version of the Official Album, which was released between "Happiest Celebration On Earth" and "Four Parks One World". The "Where Magic Lives" Edition included some (but not all) of the new tracks I listed above, was missing all of the same tracks from "Happiest" listed above except it still included "Tree Of Life One", and included two tracks that remain exclusive to that edition - "Welcome To Tomorrowland" TL area music, and "Old Betsy" instead of "All Aboard the Mine Train" for Big Thunder area music.

Thanks for the recap on the CD's. It sounds like there are a lot of overlapping songs. I may have to pass on it since I already have the happiest celebration CD.

I just bought this CD a few weeks ago and have had it on heavy rotation ever since. Grim Grinning Ghosts, Spaceship Earth and Soarin' alone made it worth the $$ in my opinion. I will be searching for other park music now that I have this collection.

I don't have any of the CDs, but love listening to all the loops on websites like dtuneslive.com and uabmagic.com.

"Destiny" doesn't play in the ride or preshow, but sometimes I hear it in the background while walking in the exit hallway between the ride and the postride area with the games.

Is this sold at WDW and if so, where?

I only have the Wishes and Illuminations soundtracks at the moment... looking to add to my collection!

At whatever gift shops at WDW sell CDs and have it in-stock at the moment! There are periods where I've noticed it at almost every store with a CD section, and periods where it seems to be scarce resort-wide, only to reappear in large numbers again.

If you are having trouble finding it, a manager at just about any gift shop can search in the computer system and tell you exactly what retail locations in the entire resort have them, and how many copies are left. I've tracked down T-shirts (in the size I wanted) and D23 magazines this way, at times learning that the only place in the resort that had what I wanted was a specific resort gift shop, in a resort where I would not have thought to look otherwise.

In this case, the CD is called "Four Parks One World - Walt Disney World Official Album". The number on the barcode - which may be helpful if they have to look it up - is 0-50087-11904-1

I think there is a mail-order service for WDW as well.

Thanks for that bit of info!

I've never noticed it at WDW (but I've never been looking for it either), is it a new CD?

It was released in 2008 and is the most current edition of the long-running "Official Album" series. While you were posting, I edited my original reply with more info that you may not have seen.

Speaking of Wishes and Illuminations, they are often sold in a boxed set with Spectromagic, Festival Of The Lion King, and Magic In The Streets (soundtracks to the day parades - Jammin' Jungle, the defunct Stars and Motor Cars, and the original music from around 2001 for the MK parade). The cost of this set is less than the cost of buying the CDs individually - it may be around the cost of 3 CDs to get the set of all 5 (which are all also available individually

Other WDW park music CDs include the Fantasmic! soundtrack, Finding Nemo the Musical soundtrack, Holiday Wishes/Jingle Jungle Parade, and Music From Animal Kingdom (Oasis and Tree Of Life instrumental music loops). They also have started selling Main Street Electrical Parade soundtracks, but on my one visit since the parade came back, they were sold out, and the CDs are of the original music, not the current recording used. Also, most of the World Showcase musical performers have CDs available at their pavillion's gift shops.

Getting a little OT here, but I also really enjoy the souvenir DVDs. There's one for each park, also bundled together as a set with a bonus "Disney Cruise Line" disc for the same price as buying the 4 individually. These are pretty straightforward travelogue tours of the parks with nice camera shots, and almost every attraction in the parks are covered (though a few are not). These also have some neat bonus features.

Recently they have begun introducing a new series of park DVDs called "Imagineering the Magic". They compliment the traditional souvenir DVDs nicely with plenty of Imagineer interviews and behind-the-scenes "making of" perspective on the design of the parks. The only parks to have gotten releases in this series so far are Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.
