Perhaps that's why that part of the wall is down during testing, to see what guests might do.

Nah, more like 'casey-tigger part three'. The designers build something, and then when it's finished, other people see it and go 'are you insane?' and force a change.

Who honestly doesn't think some stupid kid is not going to sit there and throw things at the passing cars? Or people extend things up into the ride envelope?

I'm sure there is/will be something on the other side to prevent folks from scaling the rock wall.

Wow do they really not think that could be dangerous, that is REALLLLY close to the pathway. It would just take one distracted parent to cause something really terrible to happen. I would be shocked if they don't put up some sort of barrier there.

I'm going to go ahead and echo was everyone else is saying. It's odd to see such an exposed area of a rollercoaster, if we don't see an accident or some new fencing/rockwork in the near future I'll be very surprised. It does look fantastic though, shame it's impractical.

I took some pics earlier to give perspective of how close the mine train vehicles go to those rocks.

The last photo shows you that curve from the inside. So literally just at the edge of those rocks is the coaster. If anyone hops over that, it seriously wouldn't end well, and its not hard to climb those rocks at all.

Maybe they'll put a big ole wall of trees. Who was the man that coined the term "natural selection?" If you're gonna climb the wall into a coaster you deserve your fate. Just sayin'. But I'm sure disney is on this already... Ahem storybook circus train railing, I'm looking at you.

Thanks for the update. I've never been in WDW when it's totally dead. But I HAVE found that April and late September/early October are great times to visit, due to smaller crowds.

So the really close mine train...the track is right at that 7ft rock? I have a feeling something stupid might happen and there will need to be a fence and a sign if I am seeing that correctly..do they have any danger signs around BTMRR?

No they don't, but you can't get anywhere near Thunder's track from guests areas, either. I'll join the consensus and say it's kind of shocking the track was allowed to get so close to where guests walk... I guess this another result of the ride's relatively small footprint. I expect we'll see some kind of change to the walkway eventually.

All they would have to do is make the rock work a little higher. The rocks do look easy to climb on. I can see some teenager trying to hi five their friend who is standing outside while riding the thing.

They are going to have to put fencing all along there before something awful does happen. I can say a toddler couldn't get up those rocks, but an 8 or 10 year old is a different story.

However, if you've even been to DL, there are a few spots where Big Thunder gets really close to guest areas as well, (including during the queue) and it seems to work out fine. So it may the case here as well.

It gets very visible to guests... but is actually still quite far away. The big curve over on the trail side has a huge gap between where the train is vs the pathway. It's nice and level with the guests.. but the train is like 25ft away. The curve in the queue is closer, but the train is well above the guests and there are lots of obstructions in the way.

Here, in an OPEN walkway.. people can easily just lob things up into the ride envelope.. as well as the ability for people to climb, etc. IMO is quite more significant than the point in the queue on BTMRR at DL.

Great update! In regards to the close 7DMT track, the Matterhorn in Disneyland is quite close to guests as well.

And is it just me, or is it sad that guests not having common sense is a topic of discussion and concern?
