Someone says Disney world..They think of Magic Kingdom.Always amazes me that people who are not interested in WDW think its just one big park.So after a long conversation recently with someone asking me where I was last year on vacation, and him asking me, so what is the big attraction? There's way too much for me to tell him about why this place is so special and dear to my heart. So I just say one word." Magic ". But I can understand that it doesn't work for everyone. Some people come back and say " Yes,we had a good time " others say " it was ok " then there's the moaners." Far too expensive " or " Oh my god,the crowds were awful " Maybe it's just me,but I get uptight when people just don't get the whole thing. Whats a dude at my age getting so excited about WDW. It's not just about meeting Mickey & Minnie, nor about the food,it's not about the sunshine, nor the rides. So how would you sum up what Disney is all about to you.Remember I've got my first 2013 Disney party in two weeks.;)

Well I think you have learned from my posts that to me it is about more than a "PARK".... Its like Home...
Because so many of us including me have either been there as children or watched our kids grow up there its about a feeling... "THE MAGIC".

My kids are 10,15,17,19 now.. When we are in the parks I look around I remember when they where younger... I remember my daughters refusing to get out of Ariel's lap... "She's our friend Mommy". My oldest when he was little he would dress up as a different character everyday. I remember my youngest son walking in the Star Wars Weekend Parade... I look at the other families with the double strollers.... I just want to tell them enjoy this.... it goes by so quick...!

I remember when I was a little girl... My single Dad bringing his 4 girls to a weekend at the Contemporary. The first time I had Mickey Pancakes with Mickey shaped Butter... :) I remember when Space Mountain opened... I remember when Mr. Toad closed...

So now when we arrive its like an immediate feeling of home. A feeling of safety. A feeling of days of the past and days to come.... I guess that's what I would call my feeling of "THE MAGIC". :)

Disney World is where my mother took us to be FREE. Free from school, work, almost free from all responsiblity, and in that its taught me to express my imagination and that dreams are far more powerful then we think!!! The Parks/Rides and the restaurants are a bonus!!!!! Disney World doesn't care where your from or what you do, It's all about fun and making memories that will out last us!!! Like Disneysince71 said It's home!!! Your never affraid at home!!!! few places that make me feel free like WDW. Thats the MAGIC and some people will never expierience that, maybe some can't open there minds to things that don't need to make sense, just need to make you smile! Dawm I love that place!!! I cant wait to unlock my DS Imagination at the World one day.

I never got to go as a kid...very poor family that did not even know what vacation meant. I was 22 when I first went, and at 52 am still making up for lost time. I think for me and my wife it is escapism. It is not about one thing but the experience as a whole.

As I told my sister as she arrived for the first time with her daughter(8): "remember, your daughter will tell her grandchildren about this trip!" The memories and moments that live on and get passed down.

It is first and foremost all about the nostalgia and familiarity for me. My gosh, I've been going since 1971, first with my parents as kids and now with my husband and other family members now and then. WDW is literally like going home. You go there to see what you know you've seen many times before and feel great comfort seeing once again. Its the blue and purple road signs at WDW, going under the Welcome sign, getting off at the exit to your resort and seeing it again, walking down main street and seeing the castle, your first ride or meal of the trip, all these things that mean so much to us for whatever reason but it keeps us wishing, wanting and waiting to get back.

I dont' even think about those who "don't get it" anymore because chances are, I wouldn't "get" their idea of a vacation either. Let's just keep WDW for us, shall we? ;)

There are three main components to it for me.

Nostalgia- I first went when I was in elementary school, and I have many fond memories of the place. I loved the atmosphere and the happiness that the place brought me. There's nothing like reliving your favorite memories.

Escapism- There's no other place on earth where you can escape reality. At Walt Disney World there are no billboards every 100 yards, there's no politics and there's no problems from the outside world. Let's face it, at Disney the biggest problem usually happens when you have to stand in line.

Magic- This may sound cliche and cheesy, but it's real. How else are you supposed to explain how happy it makes us all? How else are you supposed to explain the joyous occasions you have every moment of your stay? Magic plays a huge role in the Disney experience. Some people refuse to let it in, and they refuse to have a good time. Let them be grumpy. They're only missing out and it's not our problem if they're not happy.

These are three things that I truly believe make Disney World so special for me.

Truth is a lot of people that don't "get it" have a lot of things in life they just don't get..... :)

I'm SO grateful that I have been able to go to WDW almost every year since I was born. I consider it my second home basically. I get REALLY excited when we start planning a trip and when it gets closer to going. My friends think I'm a little weird for being overly obsessed with Disney and WDW, but when I get to the parks, I feel like I can go crazy and have fun without anybody caring! I feel sad when I hear that some people have never been before. I got to bring my best friend to WDW for her first time in December 2011, and we had so much fun! My dream is to work in the parks when I get old enough.

I LOVE MY SECOND HOME, WALT DISNEY WORLD!!! :)

After I went my first time at the age of 18, I could never forget the experience. So much that I decided that I would work there one day and here I am. Disney HAS been like a home to me these last few months. I've been bumming around at Disney when I'm free, even on my days off of work. It's really a place where wishes come true! Due to school, I haven't been able to roam around the park itself for like a week already and I feel like a piece of me is missing... it feels empty inside! Some people don't get it, they just don't. They think it's silly. Especially the ones that haven't been, but I'm always happy to prove those people wrong!
