Fountain of Nations is in horrid condition

Wow it was really a spectacle back then. But of course back then we also had a not-so-dumbed-down Spaceship Earth (think of it as the first back up system), the Lights of Winter, the original Land pavilion....

On my last visit there was what looked like a garden hose flopping around in the fountain, spraying water everywhere. Bizarre.

The horrible thing: They could just shut this off and it wouldn't affect ticket sales in any measurable way so, why leave it on? It'll cost money to fix it. It costs money to run it. It'll cost money to maintain it. It'll cost money to remove it. Just shut it off. Disney continues to have banner years. Problem solved.

Because its a show that turns itself on and off, besides maintance and repairs it doesn't need a cast to run the show, it's surrounded by plain buildings and a giant sphere as a backdrop. So much potential for projections and a show that doesn't require casting just a computer. If there were another show that's a means for more night attendance. The fact they still run it tells me there's plans and they don't want to hear me complaining. Theres potential in that spot.

Fountains seem to be one of the hardest things to maintain. For instance, the local mall here had about 5 of the things before Simon Corporation came in and removed them all for one new one... and that new one was always broken, so that one was eventually removed too, leaving the mall with none.

And then there is the dancing fountain in Cleveland that has had issues for years.

But man, when it worked, and they turned the lights out in that section, turned the mist on, hoo boy. Could sit there for hours.
