Hmm...I vaguely remember seeing him in Italy once...Not Germany.

I just did some checking Katt and all those who care. There is in fact a Sebastian walk around, he's munk hieght. However he is rarely used. His last outdoor apperance was when Mermaid was rereleased in theaters. He occationaly is used for private events. he can not sign autographs.

IN theory there is at least one costume for every single animated character minor and major. With the exception of things such as Morph.

Glad you found the Friar! I remember meeting him many times in the early '90s. I don't see him very often these days and it would be nice to meet him again.

Sometimes meeting a special character can make your trip magical!!!! Glad you found him!!!
This is very true. I've always wanted to meet the Mayor of Main Street and he eluded me until last week, when I finally had a lengthy conversation with him and it was perhaps the highlight of my trip. :)

Heading for the great escape.
I have a photo of the Friar (wonder if its McDonalds) it was taken at the now defunct character meet area at MK opposite the Pooh ride.

Contrary to popular belief there is a walk around character for just about 98% of the characters created by Disney. There are a few exceptions but the majority of these are kept in Special Events in the MK Utilidors. Characters that I have seen before were Ratigan, Jose Cariaco, Panchito, Flower, Bambi, Tick-Tock, Flounder, Sebastian and the Mongoose from the Rescuers. Very, very surprised to see the Bambi costume but he was very cute.

Sebastian does have an autograph though. I have his along with the all the other Mermaid characters including Triton, Scuttle, Flounder, Max, Prince Eric, Ursula and Ariel.

It's probably a stamp autograph type of thing for Sebastian. I've seen this used before somewhere else and I'm sure Disney uses it for there non signable characters.

yes I am aware seing how i work closely with the crab. All characters have autographs just not all of the sign it. In fact if you ask an operations person nicely at Playhouse Disney, they can get your book stamped by Bear.

Not to completely discount the other poster's story, but who knows, perhaps Ariel decided to sign for her friends.

Especially since Scuttle has never been out in the parks, I odn't recall Ursula ever being out for meet and greets either... And it's physically impossible for either Flounder and Sebastion to have done it. Maybe a really really nice Guest Relations person got it for them. Who knows.

Or a friend who happens to know them :)
