Fort Wilderness Halloween weekend

Hello all. I am looking to head up to Fort Wilderness during the weekend before Halloween, 10/27-1029. It will be our first time at Fort wilderness during this time, although we have been there many other times. Just not during Halloween. I was honestly expecting to find a lot more activities during this weekend, but I haven't found much aside from seeing the decorated guests RV. I see activities on 10/30-10/31 that I have found online, but not much for the actual weekend. Is it even worth it to make such an investment and there not be much Halloween activities? I have always heard great things about Halloween weekend, but really not finding a way now to justify the expense if there is nothing out of the ordinary happening. If anyone has info they can share, I would greatly appreciated. Thanks

It can be difficult to know exactly what the recreation offerings will be, as they change every year. If you’d like, you can call the resort and they should be able to transfer you to the recreation team or children’s activities. They should have an idea on what is going on, as it’s usually planned out decently far in advance. In fact, the front desk might even know!

I’m sure there will be events over the weekend, for that will likely be the most popular time to be staying at Fort Wilderness, but there may not be as many activities if your stay was closer to Halloween.

You’ll likely see (though not guaranteed), Halloween-themed poolside activities and paid crafts, and decorated RVs (Fort Wilderness has a pretty good community and they will likely have many decorated RV sites when you’re there). Oh, and you should be able to watch the fireworks from the boat dock!

I just reached out and unfortunately they do not have anything planned outside of 10/30-31. It is a shame as I am sure the campground will be packed with guests/RVs. Let's see what kind of crafts I can come up with to do with the kids during our stay. Thanks again for your feedback

That is so sad to hear! At least you can still walk around the “campsites” to see all the decorations, though! And there are still the normal activities, which won’t get you in the spirit, but are still fun.

I agree about the other activities, but overall it is an investment since I always rent the RV plus campground. It wasn't easy to book the campground either as I was checking each day, couple times a day, for several months until I was able to get one. Hopefully they change their minds and do something Halloweenish for the guests on that weekend. Not sure why all activities would be on a Monday/Tuesday especially that these are dates children are in school. Will keep hunting for info, and if I find anything I will post back. Thank you for your guidance in calling them.

You answered your own question earlier when you said

The activities are for the guests onsite, and therefore those children won’t be in school.
About campgrounds being packed, I was referring to Friday - Sunday. I have been there many times and come Sunday, you see all families picking up and heading out. So if attendance is larger on the weekend, I would have assumed they would have much more Halloween activities.

I think FW is busy all the time. The families heading home on the Sunday will be replaced by new guests.
