Las Vegas quali and race scheduled for…10pm local time. Ugh. So basically for those of us in US central and eastern zones the same start time as Australia and Japan.

The number of team principal changes are putting the driver changes to shame. Not really sure that’s an upgrade for Ferrari, though. What is this, their 5th in ten years. They gotta find some consistency.

Fred Vasser has quite a strong resume and he was the current team principle for the Alfa Romeo team which relies on Ferrari power units, so there is a connection. So, we shall see. Additionally, Charles Leclerc has worked with him before.

Not F1 news, but auto sport racing related.

Sad news…Ken Block has died following a snowmobile accident. I remember seeing him run Pikes Peak. A true talent has been lost.

Because F1 is lightyears away from sports cars.
With the Andretti organization teamed with G.M racing I look forward to seeing the unveiling of an American F1 machine. The current F1 manufacturers won't like the competition. As for sports cars, yes, absolutely a different arena (very different arena) but not less technical, detailed nor futuristic.

Andretti couldn't do it before when the cars were less technical. Can't see them being a major player for 5-10 years. Honda couldn't do it and they had been involved in the sport , in some form , for years.
Best thing they could do is get an American driver into an F1 seat before they join as a team ( 2026 looking to be the earliest). Then at least he will have an idea of how to turn right as well as left 😉.
In all seriousness. Having a driver who knows where the car needs to be would be invaluable.

Or join forces with someone like Porsche.

We had a mutual friend in Park City. Really down to earth guy.

Not really. Even Alonso said that, minus a few technical restrictions, the LMP 1 cars were not that far away from F1 cars…and that was a few years ago before they started slowing down the F1 cars.
