Formula 1 2023

You know what's funny?
Sad for Checo and sad for us. Even though redbull was off the pace a bit (at least max was) with Checo in the mix it could have been less straight forward as far as strategy went for Ferrari. That would have made it a bit more exciting at the front.

Someone sure is costing a certain team a lot of money for their productivity…or lack there of.

Costing daddy you mean?

To be fair, his car is crap too. He’s decently capable.

Without Daddy does he have a seat? I don’t know. If Daddy announced he was selling his interest in Astin Martin would there be a line to sign him when he’s out of contract?

My goodness does Ferrari have a lot of issues to work out. That was a disaster. Mercedes is easily going to catch and pass them at this rate.

That sequence surrounding Sainz passing Perez was bizarre. If the driver believes his tires won’t make it to the end, I get it. If that’s the case why take the added risk to pass Perez to give up the place when you pit? Totally different scenario if there had been an additional 5-10 laps and time for Sainz to work his way back.

Not nearly the passing I expected today, given the circuit. Ferrari gave away points today.

One of my least favorite tracks. I was sorry they brought it back to begin with.

The penalty for the clearly dangerous release in the pits was self-inflicted damage.

Congrats to Lewis and George in double podium finish for Mercedes in France. Seven time WC Lewis not ready to retire yet but Hollywood is calling with Sir Lewis co producing F1 themed movie with Brad Pitt.

Some news before Hungary…

Vettel will retire at the end of the year. Not surprising really. I don’t think he is having much fun anymore.

Porsche is set to buy a 50% stake of Red Bull Technology in a 10 year deal. Couple of things I think…Porsche has their eye set on being more than just an engine supplier, and Red Bull is starting to feel the financial pinch.

Glad I’ll be in Austin then!

I’ll be interested to see how the Porsche deal works over time.
