Formula 1 2023

You know what's funny?
I think its very petty of him to bring it into the broadcast. He got his championship and got out (good on him, all things considered). I liked him as a driver but he doesn't seem to bring much to the table as a broadcaster. I think it was COTA last year where he was walking the grid and no one would talk to him?
I think it’s a legit point to bring up. Hamilton has been getting out worked by his teammate this year. Can’t be ignored. But maybe he enjoyed talking about it too much.

I’ve got F1 TV so I must have missed all this.

Did the regular broadcast have Toto apologizing to Hamilton for the car being “undrivable?”
I found that odd considering all the other Mercedes power units, not to mention his own teammate, are dealing with the same thing.

Yep. ESPN (sky sports) aired that. That is what brought up the conversation about how George Russell is performing compared to Lewis. Nico said that taking all the blame for Hamilton's finishing and putting it on the car is a not really truthful because of Russell is performing much better in the same car. Obviously the car stinks compared to previous Mercedes. But Russell has shown it is essentially the 3rd best..or 4th at the worst.

Got it. Thanks.

I had my broadcast set to just radio conversations and F1 commentary.

May 4th through May8th the first running of the Miami Grand Prix. New venue for all the drivers that is as level for all as a racecourse can be.

Hamilton going to race or is he keeping his earrings in?
He’s going to remove everything but his nose ring…which he can keep in for the next two races but has to start removing after.

Bet he wishes he hadn’t pushed so hard for a new race director. Sometimes the devil we know is better than the one we don’t.

Hamilton is such a putz.

Safety rules are safety rules. Anyone who works knows that. If you don't follow the safety rules, there is no quicker wat to get fired.

I don't think the nose ring is the problem. I bet he has a Prince Albert.

Yeah, but not for nothing, all of a sudden jewelry is unsafe? It’s a bogus rule. He’s been wearing all that hardware for years and nothings happened. And I don’t disagree that he/anyone should be able to sign a waiver stating they understand the risk and won’t sue F1.

I agree with @Timmay , one should be careful what one wishes for. And even then, this is patently ridiculous.

It’s actually been a rule for some time now, established in 2005…it just wasn’t enforced. Kind of like the “underwear” brush up at the beginning of the year. Drivers weren’t wearing the required fire proof under garments…some even going commando, as it were. The new race directors put a stop to it. Signing a waiver just isn’t enough. Drivers have to wear the HANS, no exceptions. The fact is jewelry can interfere with fireproof clothing. The fact Hamilton says some of his jewelry won’t come off and is basically “welded on” is proof of a safety issue on its own to me. Safety has to come first.

Do you know any other tunes? Sheesh, not everyone who criticizes is a “hater”.
There are haters out there on the 7 time World Champion who broke many records in the sport
Lewis wins with the fastest car
Don't like his lifestyle or the controversy he brings at times
He's the only black driver in a white majority sport
There are other reasons but these are some of them

In regards to jewelry , now after many years jewelry unsafe? That's BS. Even Vettel mentioned it is a way to target Lewis.

F1 has finally started enforcing the rule. It happens.

My employer and customers modify safety rules from time to time. Regardless if I think the rule is of merit, I must comply. No waiver.

8th World championship Lewis will attain eventually just to #%*\ off the haters. But some still make excuses to bring him down. Par for a sport when there is a frequent winner. Jealousy, racism are some of factors of Lewis critics. Fastest car doesn’t drive itself when Lewis won many championships.

I have to go with melanin content. Not that he is a good driver, but the racial component must be the differentiating factor.
