So I wanted to run this by everyone here to see if I'm the only weirdo who does this.

The other night I was having trouble falling asleep so I started thinking of a trip to WDW. I began riding the monorail to MK, then I envisioned walking down MSUSA and seeing CC and decided to go left towards Adventureland and before I even pictured seeing the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse I was out cold.

I tried it again last night with the same results except that I decided to go towards Tomorrowland but I never made it past the archway before I fell asleep.

I feel so dumb for even sharing this but it DID work. :p

Maybe one night I'll actually be able to get on a ride!

Not weird at all, when I've got lots on my mind and I'm trying to sleep, I start thinking about Disney and rides and food and you're right very quickly I'm snoring loudly:ROFLOL:

Maybe we're both weird:lookaroun

Oddly enough, I have done this as well in the past (more so when I was younger). It worked for me...but I guess if you focus enough thought on something when you are tired you might fall asleep.

I do it too (I bet the majority of us on these boards do!) - the best part is when you end up dreaming you're at Disney...although sometimes it does backfire: I once started the though process too far ahead (leaving the house for the airport) and my dream had the flight ending up at the wrong airport while my parents, who drive, were calling me from MK. It was a very stressful nightmare!! I've also had nightmares where it's my last day and I never went to any parks...DME is pulling up to the hotel and I am yelling and screaming it's not time to leave...also very stressful!

That's really fantastic! I actually don't do that to fall asleep, but I use it for my guided visualization in school. My co-teacher and I use those techniques to help the kids relax after lunch, so she'll talk us through one or let us do our own. Mine is ALWAYS about WDW. I usually make it to the Mansion queue and then snap out of it. Sad.

I have tried it but I am the weird one here. It just keeps me up. And by the time I do fall asleep I want to go to WDW so bad.
Now what does put me to sleep is when I will put my headphones on and listen to The Living Seas Area loop that my husband put on my Ipod. After about 30 min I am out.

You are definitely not weird.

I do this all the time when I cannot fall asleep. WDW is my go to place. My fiancee joked the other night when I was sick and couldn't get to sleep by saying, "where are you going tonight?"

Good to know I'm not alone here. :D

NYwdwfan, both of those nightmares sound HORRIFYING!:)

Funny thing...my mom has the same types of nightmares! The DME one was the worst - I woke up in a sweat. I was losing my flippin' mind being dragged to the bus screaming "I didn't see the castle!! I can't be leaving!!" I believe I had that one the night before I was waking up at 7AM to make my ADRs - they always happen when I have Disney-on-the-brain.

58 days left - :sohappy:

I have had WDW nightmares about forgetting my luggage, having no money and worst of all the last one I had I forgot my daughter at home!

Normally though when I start thinking about a trip before I go to bed I get right back up and get on the computer and start pricing another trip.

Instead of my usual song translating, I tried this last night
First time I got all the way to the line on TOT, second (there were loud people outside my window) MK lasted... not even until the hub.

Then I had a dream about Nicole220 and Disneyland.. interesting.

I do this too!! It's awesome because for me... the parks are never crowded and it's always EMH! I head to the Carousel of Progress .... Which is why I had a nightmare that it started spinning out of control and I couldn't get off. Not sure how it ended, I woke up.

Thanks for sharing your stories, everyone!

I tried it again last night and I'm not sure I even made it to MSUSA this time. I'm getting better! ...or worse, however you want to view that. :lookaroun:lol:

My BF asks me that when I do my guided relaxation. He always asks if I make it onto any of the rides. Only once or twice have I made it onto or through a ride. But then again, that's why I'm looking forward to this trip. So I can go through the rides again, and refresh my memories.

I take it a step further.
I have an MP3 player loaded with Disney Ride music ie Listen to the Land, A Pirates Life for me, Tiki Birds song, Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow etc. If I wake up and can't get back to sleep, I just reach up on my headboard shelf, grab my music player, insert my ear buds, fire up the music and imagine being on whatever attraction I'm listening to. It puts me right back to sleep and when I finally wake up, I'm well rested, and I wake up with a smile.

Yea...I know...I need therapy. But it works!:)

I often think about Disney and the things I plan to do when I get there when I'm trying to sleep too. Usually because if I don't then other things come to my mind. Things that upset and depress me. So given the options... XD

I'm sorry but I just burst out laughing at this... I always laugh at the worst things. I'm sure if it was my dream I wouldn't laugh, though knowing me, would eventually.

Counting sheep

I have the opposite effect. If I think of WDW before sleep while lying in bed...I can't fall asleep. I get so excited that I have to get up and distract myself. The other night I was thinking of ToT and had to get up after 20 minutes and go to the computer. It was the only thing to get my mind off of Disney. Just thinking of hte happy people signing the morning song at the gates of MK gets me excited and wanting to jump for joy.:sohappy::sohappy:
