Forecast reliable 5 days out?

We're arriving at the World this weekend, and I'm wondering if the 10-day forecast is reliable. If so, we're looking at temps in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday. Not complaining, but it would be great to enjoy some of the 70s and 80s that the parks have seen over the last few weeks!

Are you hot or cold natured? I'm hot, and my son and wife are both somewhat cold natured (although my son is not nearly as cold natured as my wife). That said, even my wife complained that the high 70s/low 80s days that we had in late January on our past visit was too hot for winter-time. :)

I would think mid/high 60s is perfect shorts weather for the daytime, and jeans for night. We didn't wear jeans once during our visit.

I found that the 5 day forecast on WeatherBug (iPhone app for us) was fairly reliable. It got the rain day right for us. Other than that, we use Intellicast.

As a person who majored in meteorology in college (recently), I can tell you than any forecast 5 days out is just okay, 7 days is an educated guess, and 10 days is about as good as a magic eight ball.

Spoken for truth. Weather can turn on a dime in Florida. Anything past 4-5 days is a coin flip.

Absolutely. I didn't major in it but have studied it with university courses and the accuracy, regardless of location, drops off rapidly after 3 days. A good local forecaster can add a bit of accuracy to the models but not a lot.

Heck, we peaked in the low 50's up here today (highest temp in Southwestern Ontario today actually :D) and people were outside without coats and could be seen cooking on their grills. I drove to work with my window down to enjoy the fresh air, so just imagine what people would be doing if it reached the 60's-70's up here! :ROFLOL:

We have been in March the last three years in a row. Each trip has been significantly different as far as weather. The forecasts are pretty accurate. We always pack a little extra warm things just in case. It's come in handy every time!

Usually at this time of year...the forecast is reliable. The past week or 2, no. They have no idea when it's going to rain, how much it's going to rain, etc. There is a system hanging around S. Fla that was supposed to move up the state yesterday and today....then the pushed that to Thurs/Fri...now I'm seeing Saturday. Slightly cooler weather is expected after the front moving in from the northwest pushes that out of the way...but not by much. We hit 86 outside of Tampa yesterday...had to turn the A/C on...haven't done that in February in probably 3 years!

Also, we have had a very mild (to say the least) winter here and because of that our pollen counts are through the roof. Just a thought incase anyone in your group has allergies.

Last time we went the forecast showed poor weather conditions with thunderstorms every day. We were thinking... Oh no what terrible weather to contend with, lets have lots of backup plans ready. When we got off the plane, waiting for ME it was pouring..... poured all the way in ....miraculously the rain stopped just before we passed through the WDW sign.... the rest of the trip .... not a drop of rain. Lesson learned - Don't worry about the forecasts.

I hear what people are syaing about having nice, warm waether but byt about 12 or 1, after hitting your 3rd or 4th mile of park walking and the humidity has started to climb, those temps aren't so great. Especially if you're carrying a backpack (which seems the default nowadays) and/or 2 pounds of DLSR and long lens. Overcast and high 60's with a north breeze (today) is the way to go.
