Forbidden Mountain in The Good Dinosaur

Honestly, I'd say the movie is worth seeing in theaters, but nothing worth seeing twice/owning on DVD. The animation is breathtaking and it has a few fun/sweet moments. If anything, I'd rank it on par with the original Cars movie.

My four-year-old daughter did not find it very cute besides that everybody has their own opinion

Quite true.. However, you shouldn't give out false information. It's not a bad movie by any means. There are literally graphs, reviews, and sources everywhere that prove this.

It has a score of 76% on rotten tomatoes based on critics... With a score of 74% based on regular audience.
Metacritic gave it a score of 66% based on critics and a user score of 7.7 out of 10, based on 65 general audience reviews.
imdb gave it a score of 7.4 out of 10 based on votes from 5,610 users.

So overall, the film seems to be generally enjoyable. It is obviously not a bad movie if all of the reviews are generally positive... Will that change your opinion on the film? Nah.. But it's not a bad movie. Whether you want it to be or not.

Just my opinion, but I hated that movie. I thought the scenery was excellent and very impressive, but I did not like the rest of it. I know this movie has a lot of backing on this site, but I dearly hope this doesn't take over Dinoland. I am one of the few that like Dinoland the way it is. (I know, I'm weird.) Although, it does make since that Disney would make that mountain look like Everest in case TGD did well enough to put into the parks. Smart move, Disney (please don't do it), but smart move.

Side note, I think having an area that recreates the firefly scene mentioned in a previous post would be kind of neat though.

I always wondered why there were not more AA dinos spread throughout Dinoland that had slight movement. They could be in areas where they would just be viewed and not touched. Seems like it would be a cool feature in the land.

I imagine the main reason is because of the theme of the land. Chester & Hester's is the whole roadside theme, and back in the day (along Route 66, for example) there weren't AA's. So in keeping with the theme, they have static dinos/statues. The other areas are themed around the dig site, so again, there wouldn't naturally be AA's there either. But I like the idea!

I thought it wasn't doing so well financially, but looks like it's nearing $300M worldwide with a couple of countries left. Estimated budget was $175-200M, though.

That's probably your best bet. The movie was not that entertaining, and very violent

I found it entertaining and not that violent. I mean, a few kids weren't exactly happy during some of the sadder scenes, but The Land Before Time basically kicks things off with a similar sad scene and I survived.

I actually was pleasantly surprised by the movie. It got all the emotional scenes well, great animations, and while not as funny as some of their other movies, was still pretty funny at parts.

Overall, a solid movie. Nothing revolutionary, but still very well done.

That said, I hope they integrate it into Animal Kingdom, their current dinosaur section is kind of weak and could use an overhaul, but with Avatar Land and their new night show, I don't see any changes coming anytime soon.

I think that may have to be partially due to both Inside Out being the big one last year and the fact that it had very little advertising, which was odd considering dinosaur hype is up with Jurassic World doing so well (I know they're different companies, but companies always try to ride off the success of others).

More likely the fact that they kept pushing it back because of production problems.

And also the fact that the animation was subpar. Seriously, Pixar made these BEAUTIFUL landscapes....but the characters have all the presence of rag dolls. Rex and Trixie from Toy Story looked more like real dinosaurs than Arlo and Butch did.

I thought the characters looked good. It didn't seem like they wanted photo realistic characters and they seemed to mesh well with the scenery. But regardless of personal taste, I still wouldn't call the animation subpar.
