A bit of an Offbeat One but for UK visitors try using Holiday Hypermarket to book you holiday to Florida as i did and saved £200 over the usual lot (Lunn Polly, Thomsons and Thomas Cook)! :p

Well worth a look i'd say. Go http://www.holidayhypermarket.co.uk/ to find your nearest branch.

Anyway sorry for confusing any Americans but it soooo expensive to go from the UK that we need everything we can get!!

Anyway thanks

George

Good tip, will keep them in mind. I know what you mean when you use the words Disney and expense together. I seem to remember seeing one of their stores nearby.
It just goes to show that there is always a cheaper way if you search for long enough.

cheaper still

Have you heard of Travelcity Direct? they usually run ads in the Sun and the News of the World, well worth looking into,

http://www.travelcity.co.uk/

We went with them last year, went with Virgin before that, Travelcity were almost half the price. Villa we had was superb. all in all, excellent value

Have you tried just booking directly with Disney CRO or via a US based agent like Kingdom Konsultants? That way you will be paying the same price as USA visitors, and wont be ripped off with UK prices.

Steve,

Can we book with Kingdom Konsulants even though we are from the UK?

Will they be able to book flights etc.? So far I have found it much cheaper to book directly in the US but the flight lets me down as its so expensive...

Yes, I can book your trip for you. I do use all of the different discount codes that come out to save you money. I cannot book your airfare though.

Go to your travel agent armed with quotes from other travel agents and get them to match / beat it or take your business elsewhere. Travel Agents work on commision from the tour operator and will usually cut their profits to get your business (it works for me)

But they won't match online quotes - especially the one I just got. £350 for two weeks - includes fights to Sandford, all taxes and gaff charges plus two weeks in Kissimme on 192, about four miles from WDW.

I found it on the Teletext website then dealt directly with the company that placed the offer - Holiday Click. I suspected that it would be a case of "Oh - it's just a fly drive", which happened more than once the last time I was looking, but it's all above board.

Captain Hook is right. We have booked to go to Disney All Stars on 22nd Nov to 6th Dec and I shopped around. One of my friends we are going with works for Asda and she could get discounted hols through Asda but myself and my husband had Thomas Cook vouchers from our wedding so I just went into Thomas Cook and they matched the price, not even asking who they were price matching!!! 2 weeks at All Stars including flights and hire car is: £785 each (flying Virgin). They also matched any price we could get our tickets (Disney, Discovery Cove etc) We have saved a ton of money, more for me to spend in Disney yipeee. :sohappy:

We ahve found the best place to buy Disney tickets for was Orlandoonline.com I am sure that was the correct wensite if not then I will post the correct one later but it was £154 for 14 day hopper pass, not bad!!!

I too would strongly recommend TravelCity. I've booked my last 6 or so trips through them and they have been excellent. I'm currently looking to book another but stay onsite at WDW so I'm not sure how much that will affect it but before they have put us in some great hotels and made ou whole trip very easy and very resonably priced.

I guess being in the US and used to booking directly, I find it odd letting someone earn a commission from your travels.

I would highly recommend booking directly... that way your are entirely in control of your trip, bypassing all middlemen. Middlemen can make promises, but it's up to the supplier (airline, hotel, car rental, etc) to make it happen. And they'd rather make a person who booked directly have their requests instead of someone who booked through a travel agent.

We used to book through Expedia for convenience but after doing a little legwork it's obvious it's cheaper to buy each item direct.

The vacation we just bought saved close to £300 buying everything direct.

Admittedly it's easier to deal with one company, but for the saving it's worth the extra hassle of dealing with 5/6 companies.

£300 is a lot of Disney Dollars...

those £300 are the commission the agencies would be earning ;)

Bear in mind travelcity only go to the cheap hotels see other threads re hotels we normally stay at the wyndham on i drive and regularly get out for 2k (4*) not the usual pop century or quality inns 2* at best. holiday hypermarket and just a renamed travel agent (i think its hayes and jarvis) like lunn poly under a supposed cheep name though all quotes in the past from them have been up to a 1000 dearer. Shop around be flexible with your dates and you can get a good deal. We are going to the prot orleans this year for 2k . We could have gone to pop century for 1400. I have also spoken to people on our flights who travelled with travelcity and spent a hell of a lot more than us and stayed in cheap hotels.

Find a good travel agent be firm and make them do the work. get quotes from the net take them in and dont forget they want your money and they will fight to get it.:zipit:

Travel City Direct saved us £800.00 for four of us in October. Very helpful staff too. And that is staying at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside, if you can't find what you are looking for on the web, give them a call, they do have it. :sohappy:
