When going back from Hollywood Studios to the Boardwalk if you don't feel like walking you can always take the boat to the Swan/Dolphin and from there walking the remainder of the way to the Boardwalk. I have done that before and I ended up beating the boat before it arrived at the Boardwalk.
Now when leaving Epcot most of the time I always walk, however the odd time I might take the boat and it helps since the Boardwalk is the first stop once it departs from the International Gateway.
