Today at Sports, there was a family checking in. The mom and dad dealt with the CM next to me so I talked to their son (about 6 or 7) for a while.

After giving him a balloon and the safety book with Timon and Pumba, we started talking about the Lion King.

He owns 1 and 2 and is ready for 1.5. He was asking me why there's a 1.5 instead of 3 and how come 1.5 didn't come before 2.

Are you asking? or? ...

Lion King 1 1/2 is the Timon and Pumbaa story. It explains where Timon and Pumbaa were during the first hour of the first Lion King movie. It looks pretty funny from what I have seen:D

I told him that Timon and Pumbaa just have to be different, thus the 1.5.

He actually knew what the movie was about, just the kid in him wondering why they did it this way.

I saw it today! My good friend works for the Disney Store and they have given them a copy to preview it on VHS.

I have to say..it's hilarious!!! I can't wait to get my copy on DVD. I really recommend this one if you are a Lion King fan. It's worth it, all the way! :D

I have also seen The Lion King 1 1/2 early - it is the one perk of working at a video store - absolutely LOVED it!! I was just talking the other day about how bad the direct-to-video sequels are, and this one definitely makes me feel better! But then again, when the first Lion King came out, I thought there should have been more of Timon & Pumbaa. . .

ok
um the other day they were showing some of the movie at costco. maybe it was a preview disk but still i think it showed scenes from the movie

anyways...my point

there was this scene where Timon and Pumba were standing around and in the background there was a stampede...
a very familiar stampede
in fact... from the Lion King... It was 2 VERY OBVIOUSLY different animations...
is this common? or is this the quality we can look forward to in the whole movie??

To see GREAT clips from Lion King 1 1/2. Go to games and click on Pumbaa's Parade to see a bunch of clips. Also, make sure you go to the other clips link, and click on "Timon's Proposal"...That had me in stitches...

Disney better of had a really good reason not to release this in theaters. The animation is nowhere near as bad as PP2, or Jungle Book 2. Watch the clips, and you'll see what I mean. This is gonna be a good one!

I'm looking forward to this one. It looks like a really neat concept that I think has been explored on shows like Seinfeld.

Should be a good one. Hope the animation is up to par.

Hmm i have to admit I am kind of interested in LK 1.5 but then again it is a DTV movie. The actual animation quality wouldnt bother me so much if the stories were better, Return to Neverland, almost impressed me with its WWII backdrop but then they added in the awful CGI, pop songs, and a freakin octopus. But thats just my 2 cents

I heard they will be releasing this movie in theaters overseas. The only thing I can think of, why they didnt release this in theaters over here, is all the news with the animation, the Studio Closing, Pixar Leaving, and Roy getting his message out...After people hear all this, and then they hear a movie coming to theaters called "Lion King 1 1/2" they may think Disney is REALLY letting themselves go.

I just saw a "private" screening of the movie at Animal Kingdom. It was cute but not great. There was a lot of toilet humor but I guess it's Timon and Pumbaa so I guess that's expected. It was great to hear the old voices, I was sure they would have to replace most but even Rafiki and the Hyenas were the same. The animation wasn't horrible but it couldn't match the original. And the story was alright but it seemed a little like a saturday morning cartoon to me. I'm starting to think that Timon and Pumbaa's relationship is a little more than "friends". Watch the movie and tell me what you think.

I watched it today, Monday, on my computer and really enjoyed it. I laughed out loud and thought that it was very interesting and comical and not bad either. A fun new spin on the movie, and I liked the new music, and of course the old stuff. Some scenes were dumb, yes, and unneccessary, but overall the movie was fairly good. I enjoyed it!
