Not to change the subject to much, but I watched The Lion King last night, and I was wondering why the animators chose to draw realistic animals during Circle of Life, and then drew cartoony ones during the rest of the movie

It was still Television animation.

Actually, I was wondering kinda the same thing but about 2 different parts
I was wondering why they drew all realistic looking animals throughout the movie except during "Just Can't Wait To Be King" and all the animals look like Geometry class.
(The alligators are literally triangles)

You'd think they would have been able to put the Florida animation dept to good use working on the TV stuff instead of firing them.

For "I Just Can't Wait to be a King", they decided to make a fully styalized version of the animal kingdom to show the child-like perspective of young Simba. This scene is more comic driven than the rest of the movie. These types of scenes focus more on its colorful pallete and unnatural shapes to give it a more "fun" look. Its pretty much the same with the Timon and Pumba scenes, too.
"Yup! Yup! Yup!"
