Matterhorn is my favorite but the new sleds messed up the ride! The old sleds were very spacious so when you'd hit a bump, your knees wouldn't knock into each other. Not anymore. Matterhorn beat me up the last time I went on. I must have screamed "Ow!" at least three or four times. I'm not happy with the new sleds, but it's still my favorite.

Small world's facade is filthy. I hope it's cleaner now, I haven't seen it since it has come back from its refurb. Soundsational is seriously one of the best parades... Which float did you like?

My goodness, It would be hard to pick just one! I loved the princess float, very romantic and fit the "true love" theme. I am a Mary Poppins fan and enjoyed that! I can say something special about each float!! Tough question! :D

Yes, those sleds were bone crushing...

I was so disappointed in the out side of Small World, it made me sad. :(

DH decided it was time to visit the place where it all began so we decided on a Valentine’s Weekend to Disneyland.

I had planned it to the tee and when we arrived all planning went out the window (Not in a bad way) .

Our Arrival:
February 14th – We had a late afternoon flight out of Newark. We flew into SNA and in lieu of the Disneyland Express we hopped on what I would call a jitney. $10 per person and we negotiated being the first drop off. 25 minutes later we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel at approximately 2130 hours. We stayed Club Level in the Adventure Tower, Room 2866.

We had a late check in and we were greeted by a very friendly CM who could not do enough for us, Thank You Judy! She was delighted to hear we were visiting Disneyland for the first time and gave us 1st Time Pins and an autographed photo of Mickey and his pals. We overlooked the pool area and were very content with our view and the order in which we found our room. We had a King bed and the room was immaculate BUT...SMALL! The sink area outside the bathroom was very tight. Two people could not fit in this area at the same time even one person maneuvering the area with the sink and closet was interesting but, it really did not put a damper on our stay. We stopped by the E-Ticket Lounge to see the view and maybe a little snack.
The E-Ticket Lounge was located on the 11th floor, we were on 10. The staff here was friendly and very helpful. The assisted us in dining reservations and also arranging affordable cab service back to the airport, we were leaving before DL Express started for the day.
Continental breakfast was served between 6:30 and 10:00 am
Between 11:00 and 4:00pm fresh fruits, snacks and beverages are served
5:00pm to 7:00pm is a selection of scrumptious appetizers complimentary wine or beer
8:00pm to 10:00 pm sweets and beverages

During the nights DL shows fireworks they can be viewed from the E-Ticket Lounge, the music is piped in.

We opted to stop into Trader Sam's for a cocktail instead of snacking in the Lounge, the drinks were okay but the atmosphere is most fun. DH had a Budweiser (NO COORSLIGHT – strike one for DH) and I had a glass of Sangria (I think the bartender tripped on his way over). DH was hungry and ordered a flatbread cheese pizza. He said it was okay. It looked microwaved to me but, I did not taste it. The food does get better.....

We headed back to our room, we were tired and knew we only had 3 days to cover everything and wanted a good nights rest.

Overall the hotel was Very Good! Yes it was pricey but, I would do it again the exact same way. We did look at the Grand Californian but, I was more than satisfied with the service and accommodations at Disneyland Hotel.

February 15th will be installed on Monday...Please have patience with me...

Aw cut it some slack. It's a 40+ year old facade and you saw it in the heart of SoCal's rainy season where the water mixes with the dirt so it's bound to look a little worse this time of year. If you want to see it at it's absolute best, night time during the holidays is absolutely stunning!
