DH decided it was time to visit the place where it all began so we decided on a Valentine’s Weekend to Disneyland.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I had planned it to the tee and when we arrived all planning went out the window (Not in a bad way) .

Our Arrival:
February 14th – We had a late afternoon flight out of Newark. We flew into SNA and in lieu of the Disneyland Express we hopped on what I would call a jitney. $10 per person and we negotiated being the first drop off. 25 minutes later we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel at approximately 2130 hours. We stayed Club Level in the Adventure Tower, Room 2866.

We had a late check in and we were greeted by a very friendly CM who could not do enough for us, Thank You Judy! She was delighted to hear we were visiting Disneyland for the first time and gave us 1st Time Pins and an autographed photo of Mickey and his pals. We overlooked the pool area and were very content with our view and the order in which we found our room. We had a King bed and the room was immaculate BUT...SMALL! The sink area outside the bathroom was very tight. Two people could not fit in this area at the same time even one person maneuvering the area with the sink and closet was interesting but, it really did not put a damper on our stay. We stopped by the E-Ticket Lounge to see the view and maybe a little snack.
The E-Ticket Lounge was located on the 11th floor, we were on 10. The staff here was friendly and very helpful. The assisted us in dining reservations and also arranging affordable cab service back to the airport, we were leaving before DL Express started for the day.
Continental breakfast was served between 6:30 and 10:00 am
Between 11:00 and 4:00pm fresh fruits, snacks and beverages are served
5:00pm to 7:00pm is a selection of scrumptious appetizers complimentary wine or beer
8:00pm to 10:00 pm sweets and beverages

During the nights DL shows fireworks they can be viewed from the E-Ticket Lounge, the music is piped in.

We opted to stop into Trader Sam's for a cocktail instead of snacking in the Lounge, the drinks were okay but the atmosphere is most fun. DH had a Budweiser (NO COORSLIGHT – strike one for DH) and I had a glass of Sangria (I think the bartender tripped on his way over). DH was hungry and ordered a flatbread cheese pizza. He said it was okay. It looked microwaved to me but, I did not taste it. The food does get better.....

We headed back to our room, we were tired and knew we only had 3 days to cover everything and wanted a good nights rest.

Overall the hotel was Very Good! Yes it was pricey but, I would do it again the exact same way. We did look at the Grand Californian but, I was more than satisfied with the service and accommodations at Disneyland Hotel.

February 15th will be installed on Monday...Please have patience with me...

February 15th:
California Adventure:

This hotel is an eight minute walks thru Downtown Disney to the entrance both parks but, today is California Adventure. There is an entrance to DCA thru The Grand Californian but, we wanted the feeling of walking thru the main gate. Hmm..The feeling of walking thru the main gate…..Nope…not so much….

We back tracked and hit Hollywood Blvd. The Newsies were out and about singing and dancing and Mickey to! Until his eyes got stuck shut and they walked him aboard the trolley and drove away. The show itself was really well done!! Unfortunate that Mickey lost his sight toward the end… (I have some photos, I need to locate them)

Tower of Terror is the same the queuing area in WDW is much better. We ventured toward it’s a bugs life and enjoyed looking at the kid section. Very cute….

After riding California screaming and Midway Mania we bumped into these two cuties! We rode the Ferris wheel and finish up Paradise Pier. The Little Mermaid ride was exactly the same as WDW except the queuing area in WDW is much better.

Just walking around the park, this made us very happy….Orange Trees

We are hungry….Very Hungry…
We made dining reservations for Carthay Circle but, I made them too late! We were hungry now and they could not take us. We opted to grab at Tortilla Joe’s. Home run folks!! Both the carnivore and the vegetarian were very happy. DH had chicken and steak fajitas and I had a lentil stuffed publano that was outrageous! It was $5 drinks and $3 beers. I had sangria that was excellent and filled to the rim, DH got his Coors Light.
Late afternoon brings us to Disneyland….be back soon….

Side note... NO muppet vision 3-D...making way for OZ the Great and Powerful

After the parade we were suprised to see no line on the matterhorn bobsleds. We rode, NEVER AGAIN...LOL.. I am a coaster junkie. I came off of this ride beaten and bruised. DH had a very different opinion, he enjoyed it tremendously.

The lines were very long and we had all of tomorrow to enjoy attractions. We just enjoyed walking around and taking some pictures and soaking in the sights....

Small World was closed for refurb.
The outside was looking dingy. What I pictured to be very viberant and bright was dirty and yucky on the outside. I guess that's why it's under refurb!
