Asia will close at 3 p.m. and Camp Minnie-Mickey will close at 4 p.m. on April 6.

Im pretty sure they will have the pins in front of the park. Also just remember they might be talking about what the future looks for Disney as well

Closed to Guests for the Grand Opening? I think they have some pretty screwed up priorities.

Why not take care of the filming during the soft opening period when being open isn't guaranteed anyway? As for the media, bring them in one morning for a few hours then throw them out and open the attraction. Paying Guests should be considered more important than an opportunity to suck up to the freeloading media.

During every grand opening, Disney either closes the respective park early, closes part of the park or something of that nature. Last year during the grand opening ceremonies for LMA and Soarin', Disney closed both of the parks early (MGM at 4:00 and Epcot at 3:00.) This is nothing new nor is it unexpected.

Camp Minnie-Mickey is closed for a function at FolK theatre that evening. Pins will be sold at Mandala Gifts on the 6th and 7th.

Screwed up? Introducing Everest to media that can spread the word to thousands, or introducing it to freeloading guests who have been riding it pre-media for two months who will tell their friends back home (maybe 5)? Tell me again, how's that business you're running?

I see.. because they couldn't possibly hold an after hours event for the media instead of interrupting Park Guests during the supposed Grand Opening, could they? Or ask the media to arrive at 6am and wrap things by noon so business could carry on as usual. Impossible, right? Just because they've interrupted park business for previous Grand Openings doesn't make it right. Surely they can find a way to get all the exposure and advertising they want without impacting paying Guests for two full days.

Will Guests be mad and lined up to complain to Guest Relations or the nearest Cast Member? You bet. And if the response to that situation is "too bad", then yes, priorities are screwed up.

Disney has the right to close a park whenever they want. I'm sure guests will be made aware of this ahead of time and that someone on a vacation can fit DAK in somewhere other than these two days. Disney has spent a lot of time and money on this attraction, and they deserve to show it off properly. Hopefully, they'll grace us with more good news at the event.

The media got to ride/film before the soft openings had even begun.

Why are that always a large number of people (with any park) who take issue with media events? The ride has not yet opened officaly, and it will be avaiable to the public after their events, big deal.

As a member of the freeloading media, I resemble that remark!

All they have to do is put free food down. No journalist is able to resist it. It's a guaranteed way to get coverage for your event.

Reprinted from the back of every single Disney Ticket -

Parks, attractions, or entertainment may change operating hours, close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather or special events; and may otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of the Walt Disney World resort.

And this wouldn't be the first time Disney guests were undeservingly angry at something the Disney company was doing, but in the long run will turn out better for everybody. A number of Disney guests tend to have a sense of entitlement that is difficult to understand at best, psychotic at worst.

The same thing can be said for people anywhere. It is a sad truth of human nature. It isn't like there is nothing else in all of Walt Disney World to do on that day:hammer: There are 5 (including BB & TL) other parks people!!!

While yes, TWDC does have a right to do this and even a responsibility to hold a media event, its just a timing issue. AK Closes earlier then any of the other parks as it is so why not close EE on the 6th for filiming and such and then after park close on the 7th have the media event. Even leave EE closed on the 7th if you need I just don't understand with the massive resources of WDW at TWDC disposal the need to close entire areas of the parks? Maybe you could explain it nicely and more of us would understand rather then just saying TWDC has a right to do it, that alone isnt justification enough, Iger can close down MK for himself and ride all the rides since its on the ticket that doesnt make it right.
