Enjoy!! Sooooo true..... ;)

You know you are a true Michigander when:
1. Your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor on the highway.
2. "Vacation" means going up north past Grand Rapids for the weekend.
3. You measure distance in hours.
4. You know several people who have hit deer more than once.YA!
5. You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.
6. Your whole family wears hushpuppies and blue and gold shirts to church on Sunday and they yell Go Blue at the end of every prayer.
7. You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.
8. You see people wearing hunting clothes at social events.
9. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.Hey!
10. You think of the major food groups as beer, fish, and venison.
11. You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them.
12. There are 7 empty cars running in the parking lot at the Farm Fleet at any given time.
13. Yah and you design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.
14. Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
15. You refer to the Wolverines as "we."
16. You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction.
17. You can identify an Ohio accent.
18. You have no problem spelling Kalamazoo.
19. You consider the UP exotic. ya hey!
20. You don't have a coughing fit from one sip of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
21. Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a cow next to your blue spruce.
22. You were unaware that there is a legal drinking age.
23. Down South to you means Toledo.
24. A brat is something you eat.
25. Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new machine shed.
26. You go out to fish fry every Friday.
27. You know how to polka.
28. Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.
29. You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.
30. You find 0 degrees "a little chilly."
31. Ya actch'lly understand dese jokes, and den you forward dem to all yer Michigander friends.

LOL Maria. I am from Detroit, so I understand it, am a bit more urban than most on the list. Oh but I know the folks they wrote it about! A few comments:

5) I did that last week. Hot, cold hot cold
9) I hate locking my door. I really just need keyless entery on the house.
11) I (Mrs. Disney PhD) knows very well how to use jumper cables. But I think that has more to do with my VW Jetta I had in college.
12) In colleage (WMU) I lived in the dorm at Kalamazoo with a women who was the grand daughter of the owner of all the Quailty Farm and Fleet stores. I hadn't heard of it before I moved to K-Zoo. ( I think that answers 18 too).
13) I love the halloween costumes at the Disney store, so warm and cozy.
14) This one is true!!!!! Until spring when it melts, and then refrezzes, making new pot holes, then construction starts.
31) Thanks for the laughs. After reading this I am sure everyone understand more why when they go to WDW there as so many people from Michigan there. (exspecially if you go in the winter!)

LOL! I was close to live in Michigan and have been to Flint twice, once in september when the beautiful colors of the Fall started to appear, and once during Xmas when it was sooo white and beautiful, but also what a pain! The best part was when the plane was landing past midnight and it was all white on the ground! ;)

My friend´s mom helped jump start the car after it was left one night outside in the snow... I had no idea of how to do it!

We went to this huge store called Cabello´s for all those kind of outdoors sports. Amazing. I loved the store, specially for the fudge they sold upstairs... hehe :slurp:

First thing I was told when I got in the car was "keep your eyes open for deer". Harder when it was dark! I finally figured out how that would be when we almost hit one...

I also own a "M" cap and t-shirt, but people here think it stands for "Maria"... hehe ;)

Those were forwarded from a michigander to me, but I´ve also seen this one that I HAVE to add: "when asked where your city is, you always point to a spot on your hand":D

Maria, I could be worse, you could be in Michigan right now.

As for pointing to your hand. I don't know how people in other states do it. I would be lost with out being able to map out the L P on your hand. If you hold your hand right you can do the U P too.

Summers are real nice here, going up north is wonderful then. If you happen to like winter northern and western Mich can be funn too. I know people who also like snow sports and enjoy Michigan that way. Not me, I go to FLA in the winter.

hehehe... the first time I was introduced to the "hand pointing", I had to run to the map right after it! lol I had no idea Michigan had that shape! Now I ask "could you show me with your hand?"

I actually loved the "air conditioning outdoors" weather in September, but I´m not sure if I would love the winter... Snow was the most beautiful thing I´ve seen, but if I have to wear all that on me for 3-4 months, I don´t know if I would enjoy it that much. Not to mention when it melts and everything is slippery and brown.... :(

The "landscaping and scenery" were so beautiful! :) I wish it was closer to here! (and cheaper to travel to) ;)

I have always lived in Michigan, and yes we travel to florida every year for a nice break each winter. I would love to live in Florida, but Michigan has something the other states don't - Detroit Red Wings and they are the best hockey team in the NHL, So for now I will stay in Michigan
