FOP + SW = new MF ride?!

Is there any chance that the new Millennium Falcon ride @ SW:GE will use FOP-type tech (rather than some Star Tours tech), so I will actually feel like I'm piloting the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy?! Thoughts? Info? Rumors?

Does not seam like that AT ALL given concept art and info that was put out.
Whatever tech it is using though, does seem immersive, so I won't worry too much about it for now.

Without really looking at anything else... does this mean we're getting another Disney ride name acronym that just sounds wrong... in this case MF ride... Kinda like Monsters Inc Laugh Floor (MILF) etc...
I felt SGE was a bad acronym because we have an awful ride that also has the acronym SGE.
Not a swear word, but still unfortunate.

I’m a bit worried about the Millenium Falcon rice tbh. The thought of letting guests take control seems like an awful idea.

Like I don’t really want to wait 3 hours in line just to have some little kid be the pilot and not know how to fly the thing at all and ram us into walls. Hopefully it’s like M:S or at least on a set track with a little zone for you to fly around in.

No FoP ride tech.

Think of it as a 6-person Star Tours with real-time simulated visuals instead of several movie segments. Your actions in the cockpit will affect what happens on the journey as thus what is displayed before you. To what degree and I can't say.

They are exaggerating the extent of guest interaction. 10-year old Timmy won’t ruin your ride.

Disney never exaggerates!

But seriously, they’ve been “play-testing” the system with test riders for a while now, and are adjusting it so that it has the right amount of interactivity (e.g., doesn’t allow people to ruin the experience for everyone else).

I wonder if the creative conceit is that a droid or auto-pilot system is doing the main driving/navigation, and we’re needed for unexpected events/emergencies?

And it would be cool if there were additional in-vehicle special effects, which differ depending on our actions.

Also, this shouldn’t really be its own thread, and I guess I’m contributing to the problem 🙄

I’m thinking at most it will be the Pirates of the Carribean attraction at the old Disneyquest. You could steer the ship and fire the cannons but nothing could REALLY go wrong.

Just think of the number of guests who’d backhand a child in a Disney park for ruining the attraction.

So it’s a video game without the Game Over.

I’m guessing if there’s not a butt in the seat, it’ll revert to Mission Space mode.

Where the mission’s made up and the buttons don’t really matter.
