Food&Wine- Opening day crowds?

I intentionally planned to go to Epcot's Food & Wine festival the second week to avoid opening weekend crowds (figuring the yearly media blitz would pack em in, as well as after reading online posts suggesting the same). But now my schedule may force me to change my visit to that weekend.

Is opening weekend that much busier?

Somehow, I got the idea it'll be crowded on opening day. I'm going to avoid going there on Sat. the 18th, but after that I'm expecting to have a great time!

Last year it seemed busier the first weekend than most of the other ones, but notm too crazy as to avoid. Then again, MK is more populated this September than last yeat, so I assume Epcot will be the same.

But Epcot is rarely uncomfortable to at least walk around regardless of the crowds.
