Food & Wine Festival Party for the Senses...?

I posted this last week on the R&T Planning forum. There were several "views" but no replies. Perhaps that was the wrong forum. Since ADRs begin very soon, I would REALLY like some input, please!?!
We've talked for years about attending the Int F & W Festival and we'll finally be there this last week in Oct. We're trying to decide if the expense for Party for the Senses is worth it. Not huge Sister Hazel fans (me yes, wife so-so) and I'm assuming the pavillion is located at the EPCOT end of the lagoon which I seem to remember as not the best place for viewing "Illuminations". What does the $145 -$250 pricing include besides the concert, initial cocktail, and (semi) private viewing...do you still need to purchase food and drink scripts, how packed is it, is a reserved table the way to go... we're new at F&WF and want to "keep it magical"! HELP!!

We need time for things to happen.
I don't know a thing about this particular part of the F&W festival other than I'm a complete Newb and I wouldn't pay to see 'Sister Hazel' ;)
but I will tag @DisneyDebNJ in hopes she'll see it and come chime in, she may know a thing or two about this as she's F&WF veteran!

We have been debating doing this as well. I got a lot of information from the Disneyfoodblog. The guy who runs it really seems to have a lot of info on the festival and all things food at Disney. There is even a section at the end of all his posts where you can comment if you have questions. In my experience he has been quite helpful.

I am not sure about a concert or sister hazel. I could be wrong but I believe the entertainment for the party for the senses is the cirque du soleil act Nobu. The eat to the beat concerts may be what you are thinking of, and they are free with admission.

So check out http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2012-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/

I have been to the festival a few times, so if you have any specific questions I would be happy to try and answer them. Enjoy your trip! :)

Here I be!!!!! LOL Party for the senses is an immense amount of food!! Now having been to all of the F&W fests, except 2, can you believe I have never done Party for the Senses?? To be absolutely honest, between our ADRs, DDP and the kiosks from around the world, its TOO much food!!! (did I actually say that?!?!?!?) We will also be attending the eat fest, I mean F&W the last week of October. We figured out the best way to do some fun samplings, is to save your credits on DDP and pick a day, when your ADR is for a breakfast, then walk around the WS all day/night, eating to your heart's content and sample some of the delectable adult beverage offerings, go back to your resort, and sleep like royalty!!!! (Trust me on this one!!) If I can suggest visiting www.disneyfoodblog.com and check the Food and Wine Festival page, there are pics from last year and a description of some of the food served. I have heard pros and cons regarding Party for the Senses, but it all comes down to individual taste. I myself, could never eat $145 - $250 worth of food in one sitting! (Of course the menu changes every year, but you'll get the idea of foods offered. Have the BEST time planning! You are going to have a blast!!!!!

You and Tina along with our disney dining thread brothers and sisters, need to make a trip all at the same time during F&W one of these years!!!!! Thanks for the tag bro!

Thanks so much, I'm glad I finally switched to the forum where people know what they're talking about besides "counting down days" (oops, I didn't say that, did I?")

They did say Cir-D-Sol wouldbe performing, but I thought Eat to the Beat concerts were all part of the same thing, one big event as it were... clearly this is why we need help. Have been on disneyfood. blog and have seen all the kiosk menu, map, etc., and looks fantastic. At this piont I'm thinking that the cost for PArty o' Senses could be better used on decedant sampling over a few afternoons, but would hate to miss a "Can't Miss!" event. I greatly appreciate all the help

Since this is your first time I would skip the party for the senses. Save the money for all those booths! Maybe do a culinary seminar instead? I did one with Andrew zimmern in the past which was great, and were doing another one this year.
Be sure to try the lamb from Australia, so good! :)

Thnx, have been to WDW several times but this will be the first without kids; just wife & I. Looking forward to some grown-up food, beverage, and activities. Have always been an "observer" on the forums, but realized I needed some advise for this trip (I thought I knew everything after being the more than once, after all!). Huge, huge thanks to all!

We also have been wanting to do the Party for the Senses, but we can never justify it. We love trying all the F&W offerings and do not want to sacrifice that for the party, especially at that price. DH has enjoyed the beer seminar in the past. I'm sure the party is cool, but we'd love the atmosphere in World Showcase during the festival and prefer munching and drinking around the world.

Thanks again for all replies. I had my alarm set for 3 a.m. (PDT) to make sure I was on the ADR site at the moment reservations were available (7 EDT). Not only did I not have to stumble down the stairs, trip over the dog (who would have thought we were going walking), log onto the computer, and try to navigate ADR before coffee, I saved at least $300 (I'm guessing that won't be a problem)to spend otherwise during our stay. Again, thanks to all!
