Food shopping near DLR?

As my trip next week quickly approaches another question has popped into my mind. We are staying at the Villas at Grand Californian and we were wondering if there is a place nearby to do some quick food shopping. Doesn't even have to be a full grocery store. We could probably find everything we want in a convenience store. I know there will be some basic stuff available from the store at the resort but I hate paying Disney prices if I can avoid it. It's not a huge issue for us but it would be nice if we could grab some stuff for the week once we get there.

Did a quick search and it seems the nearest grocery store is Food4Less on Katella Ave, about 1 mile west of DLR. You can walk, or you can also take the public bus, OCTA Route 50 runs up and down Katella Ave every 30 minutes or so. $1.25 per person one way. There is also an ABC Mart, which is next door to a 7 Eleven on Harbor Dr. and Katella. Have I mentioned I am uber jealous that you are going to DLR??

Thank you for your Googling skills. Can you tell I'm preoccupied with packing right now? It never even occurred to me to Google it. :hammer: And yes, I do believe you've mentioned it once or twice. You are welcome to try and fold yourself up into my suitcase. There is actually a lot of room in there right now.

Have Laura deliver you groceries..:D

That is a good idea!

 No problem. Today is slow at work due to all the wussy patients cancelling because "it's too hot out!" which cracks me up, because the clinic has a/c. :hammer: And I have a feeling you will be filling up the suitcase nicely, thus squeezing me out.

Will you have a car? If so, there is a Target down Harbor Blvd. south about a mile, across from the Grand Hyatt.

But I think your best bet is Vons, a big SoCal full-service supermarket chain, on Lincoln Ave. just east of Harbor Blvd. about two miles north of Disneyland. It's in "downtown Anaheim" in a shopping center there.

The Food 4 Less on Katella is a warehouse store that mainly has things in bulk and in giant packages. If you need a 6-pack of toothpaste, Food 4 Less is for you! The ABC Mart is a bizarre cross between a tacky tourist shop and a 7-11, and you won't find much there besides candy and soda pop, novelty ashtrays, and cheap t-shirts.

I would try heading to Vons at 130 West Lincoln Ave. ,just east of Harbor Blvd. They'll have everything there.

Here's a pic of the ABC Market on Harbor. It does sell liquor, but not much else foodstuffs besides candy and chips and soda pop. Lots of t-shirts and tacky souvenirs as well.

hey! we literally just returned last night and I do NOT recommend buying the groceries at that ABC mini mart for sheer price. it was wayyyyy overpriced. if you have a car, we used the wal-mart on euclid street/ave. . it is a few miles away, but wal-mart pricing was the same as here in PA. The only thing is that it doesn't have produce (if you were looking for that). it has everything else though.
