I was in WDW this past summer. One of the attractions that I went on Food Rocks. Well i we were a little late and for some reason the doors didnt close (I think some people were holding them open not allowing them to close or something like that) so anyways they already had the peach boys singing and i was trying to look for a seat. When I looked in the back row i looked up and noticed like a project board ( the types that they use to scroll messages on) with the lyrics but with the lyrics backwards. Like anytime that a character said something it would appear on the board. It was pretty cool. I was trying to find out if someone posted this before but i couldnt find anything. Does anyone know the reason they put that there and why its backwards?

Correct the device used to view them the best I would say can be found at the Muppet Vision 3D. They are on a stand type base maybe about the 36 inches tall (yard stick), and have a reflective glass that you can see through, and also displays the text of what is being said on it from the back of the theater.

Maybe we were at the same show. The doors didn't open right away for us either in mid-August. I too noticed the displays on the back walls on our last trip. Good to know what they are for.
That's pretty cool! I always wondered how those things worked. I took 4 semesters of American Sign Language all taught by Deaf teachers, so one would think I would have picked up on that :lol: Just an aside- our teachers taught us that they and the majority of the Deaf community don't actually like the term "Hearing Impaired" because it makes them feel defective.

The reason for the reflective captioning is to not distract other guest. the RC post is viewable by the guest requiring it, and does not obstruct the view of other guest the way Closed captioning does.

Great information grizzlyhall! One reason I am glad you posted this is because I could have sworn I went to Muppetvision before the captions were there. Glad to know I am not crazy! (well at least not in this particular case) :lol:
