Food rocks closed Jan. 3, 2004 to make room for the queue to Soarin'.

Food Rocks was my most Beloved Disney attraction ever.. I cried when it closed lol. And it began my hatred for Soarin ever since Muahaha! :fork:

wow!!! really that long ago? hmm i always thought it was near the circle of life? hmm. oh well thanks then!

They were in the same pavillion, so I guess they were near each other. Circle of Life is at the top of the steps as you walk in, just off to the right. Soarin is down the steps, further to the back.

It's kinda sad, but everytime I hear a song that was parodied in Food Rocks, I immediately think of the Food Rocks version.

"Don't take my squash away from me, don't you leave me with the broccoli!"

I like Soarin', but I resent Disney for destroying Food Rocks just so its space could serve as part of the queue. There was no reason they couldn't have made Soarin' its own pavilion with an entrance between The Land and Imagination, but they decided instead they had to overcrowd The Land. And just like you Figment82 (hey that's my password at work!), whenever I hear any of the songs in it I immediately think of the lyrics used in the show instead (of course, I also do this with anything Weird Al has parodied, too...especially if I don't like the singer).

No offense, but I was relieved when they closed Food Rocks. It was an appropriate fate for the show that replaced Kitchen Kabaret.

Harsh but fair. I watched FR the other day and it was just... embarrassing. The mouse trying to be hip 5 years too late.

I agree though; using the theatre area for a queue was a cheap cop out; one good way of removing an animatronic show and not replace it with something equally as detailed. Soarin` had many options for another entrance - either standalone (with even less Futureworld connection than now) or elsewhere In Land South; if needs be they could have literally had the entry/exit corridors connecting to the building - on either floor - and a larger new-build queue facility. this would mean they`d have to reconfigure the south service ramp (or bridge it) but in a park full of architectural wonders it wouldn`t be too difficult.

Thank you scottnj1966

All your videos are awesome!! The food rocks made my whole family smile and was a refresher for our DD who saw it last in 2001 but didn't remember it. For our 2 DS who have become classic and 80's rock fans it was a treat.

Thanks again
