Food in Springfield

What is the best thing to eat in Springfield area? We are huge Simpsons fans and have a Duff at Moe's is a life goal. I also feel like I really need to have a Krusty Burger, but if there is something else there that is a lot better I might be swayed to try that instead.

It's all overrated in my opinion, but my friends and family LOVE the curly fries and tater tots.
Oh, except the doughnuts and cupcakes; those are definitely NOT overrated.

The donut sundae at Lard Lad's is a calorie/health nightmare, but so deliciously sweet. I'm not in love with the FFB indoor stuff, but still haven't had the pizza or a Krusty Burger, but it is different than the rest of their quick service and a very welcome change. The mini cupcakes they have at the registers are also very tasty. I've only had the cookies and cream cupcake, but I've heard the other two are just as insanely delicious. Also, the non-alcoholic specialty drinks inside are pretty tasty as well, though my personal favorite is the apple one.

I've only eaten inside at FFB twice. Had the Krusty Burger, but had them hold the liquid cheese. It was a good burger, better than what I'm accustomed to at theme parks. Very messy, even without the cheese. The fries are fast food curly fries. No more, no less.

I preferred the Chicken-and-Waffle Sandwich, which comes with some kind of maple syrup-mayo mix. Sounds awful, but was actually a great dipping sauce for the tater tots.

I liked both sandwiches, but probably would get the Waffle sandwich again. I know these are the two items that get mentioned the most, so I'd also be curious what other dishes people have tried.

I've had the coconut shrimp and the chicken fingers. The chicken fingers were probably worse than the Disney version, but maybe I just got a bad batch. The coconut shrimp was good, if a little too crispy...apart from the fact I don't like coconut but somehow managed to overlook that simple problem while looking at the menu and the shrimp while I ordered. :banghead:

As a Simpsons' fan it is hard for me to go to Cletus' Chicken Shack, simply because that is never in the TV show. I still might do it if I keep hearing about the chicken and waffles.
How is the Duff beer?

How is the Duff beer?

Duff -- good, close to Yuengling. Definite flavor, but not overly heavy.

Duff Light -- Milwaukee's Best Light (or whatever cheap college kids drink by the case these days--i.e. not good)

Duff Dry -- very hoppy, sort of tastes like a long-lost Sam Adams seasonal brew

As for food, the donut is awesome, the chicken and waffle sandwich is interesting. Tacos were very good but overpriced. The Krusty Burger is better than your average quick-serve burger, and you have to have one once to say you did, but better options abound, be it Finnegans or any of a half dozen places in CityWalk.

I had the Chicken and Waffle sandwich as well. It was actually really good and I completely expected to not enjoy it. We had a big group and I went ahead and bought one of those giant donuts for all of us to split.

Next time I'm trying a Krusty Burger.

I quite enjoy FFB and all it's options. About the only things I haven't tried are the hot dog and pizza. The Krusty Burger is a good theme park burger and probably the best counter service burger in a park. The frying Dutchman is very good with some good fish and chips. The best though is the Chicken and Waffle Sandwhich and that amazing flavored mayo.

Duff Dry is a stout- my favorite beer ever-just enough chocolate and none of the ashiness you get with some stouts! We had the Veggie burger- better than most (black bean burger- not the wheat gluten ones you normally see). DS LOVES the chicken and waffle sandwich. The "everything" basket at the frying dutchman was a second fav of his :)

I had the Krusty Burger and a Flaming Moe in October and they were both delicious... The burger was really good for a theme park burger. I def think that would be my stop for quick service in US from now on ... Even though I'm biased because I'm a huge Simpson's fan and the execution of the whole area is a major attraction for me. They need something of this caliber in IOA... Three Broomsticks is awesome but there isn't much variety... (which makes sense) but the other QS places I've eaten at in IOS leave a lot to be desired... I.E. Circus McGurkis (sp)... Awesome theme & building... terrible selection of food... Same goes for the Fantastic Four restaurant in Marvel... The Jurassic Park place is decent as is the Blondie sandwich shop, but they are no Springfield.
