Food at Universal

MYTHOS! It's by far the best restaurant a Universal! Be sure to get the Mixed Greens Spinach Salad. It's probably the best salad I've ever had! The atmosphere and theming is great, and though it's almost never crowded, you might as well make reservations. Also, it's really not that much more expensive than fast food in the park. If you're going to IoA in the morning, I'd recommend getting there at about 8:30, and by 11:30 (which is when Mythos usually opens) you'll probably have done everything and will be hungry. :slurp:

Have a great time!

We are planning on doing IoA in the morning, going to CityWalk for lunch and the doing Universal after. Dinner, probably in park or back at CityWalk.

Will it be ok to turn up for lnch time rather than booking?

Thanks for the advice btw.

Margaritaville is a must for us, we also go to The Kitchen at the HRH one of the most underrated places ever.

This Nov the plan is Margaritaville, The Kitchen, Mythos(highly rated by my daughter) and Pastamore.

I may sneak Emerils in instead as a surprise.

Emerils at the Universal is the WORST restaurant I have been to in Orlando. 1st, the servers were rude and were not attentive to my table or any of the tables around my area. They were rather racist, my water got refilled once after receiving my dinner (and server never came back). He dropped his tray and food went all over the floor and on my clothes. The $100 bill was not something that I could say, it was worth the time, food and service. They seemed to pay their guests whom had exclusive seating in the back and on the upper level more attention. I will never go back there again. I had always looked forward to dining in his resturants (always heard great things) but this one was HORRIFIC!!!

I ate at Mythos for the first time on my most recent trip. I was always intrigued because for the longest time, they had a big banner over the entrance that said it had been voted the best theme park restaurant for the past several years. While I did like it a lot, I would say it's a tad overrated. For the record, I would eat there again, and most likely will on my next trip. But I think my expectations were a bit high. The ambiance is very cool!

Personally, I'd skip Hard Rock Cafe. That's a chain that is located in quite a few cities, and there's really nothing more special about the Orlando location. Having said that, I would recommend Margaritaville. Yes, that one is a chain also, but there aren't as many locations, so the Orlando location is still somewhat special. We make it a tradition to go to Margaritaville at the beginning of every trip. And we always sit outside on the porch. They have live music and you get a good view of IOA from there.

Oh no, I would steer clear of the Emeril's on Citywalk. I've always heard it was not great. The Emeril's in the Hard Rock Hotel on the other hand is amazing. Look at the menu online and consider trying it next time. Some of the best food and service I've ever had.

Ooh, I LOVE Mythos!! I've probably eaten there 30 times and never had a bad meal! They're also not too expensive and you don't need to make reservations more than a few hours in advance (if then)

Ooops, yes I knew that. I was distracted by reading about someone going to the Hard Rock Cafe and typed the wrong thing! haha But yes, Tchoup Chop is the name and it's brilliant, at least every time I've gone.
