Food and Wine Premium Fiasco

Well, we just got home last night so I thought I would update this. As a whole, we loved the Premium Package. The first day was a serious fiasco, that many faced. As the days went on though, the wonderful cast members helped us forget the massive blunder of the beginning of the week. We received 3 fastpasses, and were given 8 more comped vouchers for the food/drink items. We had a member of management come by every day while we were in EPCOT to check in with us and to make sure we were having the magical memories that we were promised. The CM's at the Canada VIP area were amazing! They had rehearsed three songs to sing and they were such fun! The CM's at every single VIP area were great. They had such great stories and engaged every customer like they were the most important person in the world at that time. Our experience went from one of the worst, to the best we have had in our long history of visiting. We went from never wanting to buy the Plan again, to life long converts. Well done Disney, well done.

thats's what I expect from Disney, Great job!!!!! to the CM's and Management.

I had a similar experience when they first rolled out magic bands. Our just didn't work and we got new tickets every day for like 4 days. Finally, they gave us some "Jesus Pass" the ensured we were admitted to the park, without question.

We wasted probably a couple hours at our resort, at guest services, and at the ticket counter trying to get the tickets to work, and they just kept failing.

I forgot what all we got, but it was something like a $300 credit, free meal plan for the 4 days, a free night at the hotel, and special seating for Fantasmic and Illuminations.

Disney will take care of you if you just calmly explain what happened.

Only if you are lucky and a CASH guest, Similar screwups when staying on DVC points usually involve getting Member Services and/or your DVC guide involved to straighten out the mess, The dynamic of course is that since you are DVC you WILL be coming back regardless so hotel management feels they don't need to solve your problem (besides there are so many other screwups to fix)

A CASH guest has the choice of NOT coming back.

What's a cash guest? You mean not annual pass or DVC?

They probably have a file on me because I go so often and write a mostly positive letter every trip.

Oh where do I begin?! We just finished one of the most disorganized and waste of my time in my entire Disney visiting life! It started when we went to pick up our premium package from the Festival Center. One kiosk with two woefully Uninformed cast members in attendance. Two hours and three forms later, we finally get our package, which I reserved the day it went live. I showed them my confirmation number on our MDE app, they had my name on the list, yet they needed me to fill out my name and drivers license number. THEN, they say they can ship it to the front only. What resort was I staying in? Huh, why do you need that? But ok. I give this info. The guy fills out the bubble on the transfer form. Then we get told that we need to go to the front to guest relations if we wanted to activate our magic band. Yet another line. THEN, we ask what about our seminar? They say oh go right on to it. So we proceed to the seminar, which was about to start since we had spent so long in line. We get there and they tell us we need a ticket at the info desk. Ok, 10 minutes in THAT line. We get to the front, the cast member says wait, you need to get that from the festival shop, where we had spent the 2 hours already. I explain that I had been in that line for 2 hours already and got bubkiss for tickets to my seminar. She says "oh whatever and shoves tickets at me. Fast forward to the areas themselves. Most had just a couple chairs and the cast members were flustered as can be. Lord help them they tried but it looked like they were seriously lacking in training. We put on our best smile and just powered through. All the cast members were doing their best and we thanked all of them for the valiant efforts to help when they weren't sure what to do themselves. Then the final straw, that nice long wait at package pickup at the front. We get told that our package must have been sent on to our resort because it wasn't here. He said he looked in the computer and it was shipped to the resort. What THE heck?!?! Now we are 100back in line for transportation. Can't win for losing. 9 for the effort, -15 for the most disorganized $430 I've ever spent.

I'm so sorry for you. This sounds AWFUL! Hope your day got better from here...

It takes a day at least to reach your resort with any packages so that's not uncommon. Should be there tomorrow. Frustrating I know. :bored:
The resident "know it all" has spoken. If she says it will be there tomorrow it better be there although she honestly has no more info on the subject than the rest of us.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Umm... Pretty sure she was just stating a fact.
Yes thank you ;) I was just taking a guess for them by how long stuff has taken to get shipped to the resort for me personally. Takes a full day or 2 to reach the resort. Usually within 24 hours but can take 48.
I guess me and a lot of others on here that answer questions and help give advice very often/daily basis are all "know it alls"! Hahaha! We just want to help and definately I don't know it all!! Lol.:facepalm::happy:

From the touringplans site:

"You can usually get your package at your hotel after 3:00 p.m. THE NEXT DAY. For example, if you buy a sweatshirt at Mouse Gear at Epcot at 11:00 a.m. Monday morning and ask for it to be sent to you at Port Orleans Riverside, it will not show up at POR until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Be aware that the resort delivery service is NOT something you can do on the last day, or even two days, of your trip."

Thanks for finding the specifics..I knew I had seen that somewhere. lol That has usually always been the case for us. One time it took 2 days (probably due to it being later the night we sent it) but usually was there in the gift shop waiting for us at the resort late the next afternoon on most instances. :)

I was surprised to find out the resorts don't do it to other resorts. I was shopping at the contemporary and asked for my stuff to be sent back to Caribbean beach and they couldn't do it.

That's a bummer. I had never tried that yet from resort to resort. I usually took the stuff with me that I bought at different resorts because we had our car or whatever with us. :)

One more update that I forgot to mention, the biggest issue with the swag bag was that it has alcohol. Alcohol is not supposed to be shipped to the resort. Gary, one of the managers at our hotel, personally drove to Epcot and got the package the next day. He called me and was waiting at the bus stop with it as we got off the bus from MK. They added two more glasses as well.
