I want to know about the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
- Is a included in park admission and pay as you go type?
- what should first timers look for?

it's included with park admission, & yep, u pay for whatever item u want. the menus have been posted online & on this forum as well.
i'd just go with whatever u think u would want or to stay within your budget. it adds up if you're eating & drinking around the world. enjoy. :)

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
There are also lots of paid events you can book, cheap ones like beverage & food seminars, and more expensive events like the Party for the Senses every Sat night and also special courses breakfast, lunches & dinner events as well. Also there is the Eat to the Beat concerts that happen 3 times nightly with various recording artists that is included with admission. So many things going on to see, do, and eat! ;)

Food and Drinks at the kiosks are pay as you go. Most seminars are something extra to pay for as well. The Eat to the Beat concerts are included with admission but there is a dining package that will get you first dibs on the seating. It is fun to snack around to the different kiosks especially if you share food with someone. We went last year and basically that was our meals. It is a good time to try different foods as the portions are smaller and if you don't like it then it isn't as much of a waste. There are also little passport books that are free and you can get those stamped at the different food kiosks. It sounds cheesy but it is really fun to "collect" the stamps.

Be aware and prepared that each individual tasting (food or wine) can be anywhere from $6 to $10 for a small portion. Easiest thing to do is load up a gift card with an amount you don't want to go over then use it until it runs out. I easily dropped $80 last year alone in one evening there. Sounds like a lot of food but they are priced quite high.

If you are looking to try one of the up charge events and will be at Epcot on Friday or Saturday I recommend doing the Party for the Senses. It's lots of fun and you basically get to enjoy unlimited food and drinks during the party while being inside the World Showcase pavilion. There is also entertainment during the party as well.

Yes, you don't pay separately to walk around the festival booths, but of course you pay to dine/drink. I've done this event several times, and a word of advice is to pace yourself and/or use good time management. If you're only going one day, you can very easily get bogged down in a small area and miss many other offerings; i.e. you start at one end, and before you know it you're only part of the way around and its later in the day already. So sample here and there, make your way around, and you can always double back to hit something that caught your eye earlier. If you have multiple days, then this shouldn't be a problem.

There are also very limited places to sit down and eat as F&W attracts a lot of people so it will most likely be crowded. Another advice I tell people is to buy the plate they sell at the specific F&W retail kiosks that had a place to hold your drink. This way you will have a hand free for your fork and you can enjoy your food even if you have to stand or walk.

Most of the food items are between $4-$5, and the drinks are between $6-$10. Try and avoid Friday-Sunday if you can. Its a mob scene on the weekends, and the lines for the kiosks are so long they spill into the next country. No joke!
Also, all the booths close even when the park is still open for EMH. I found that out the hard way

You can by a food and wine pass for 8 or 16 tastings, I think the 8 is around 60. And the 16 around 109. It's a deal if you use it on the more expensive offerings.
You can get them at the 2 stands on the left and right sides as you enter the world showcase.

We love the F&W festival. It is included in park admission but they have a lot of fun class's and all available for addition while back is WS. My advice is to not do any dining options the days you plan on going to Epcot. There's plenty around to fill you. It's also expensive. But it's great and worth it. I also advise to try as close to everything you can. If you're splitting it's doable if going for multiple days.

The Food & Wine Fest is great to use with the Dining Plan. Almost everything is counted as a snack, and your counter services can be converted on the spot to three snacks. Being able to walk up and get three steaks or three lambchops by tapping your magic band was handy.

It's not a cheap way to drink, though. Single servings of wine or beer are not large, and they've cut down almost entirely on cocktails.

It's gotten much more popular and much less, er, classy, though. There were huge groups of people everywhere last week wearing homemade shirts saying things like DRINKERBELL! or GETTING HAMMERED AT EPCOT (with a picture of a drunk Mickey fondling a drink Minnie). Another group had shirts with a picture of a drunk Dory with "Just Keep Drinking... FINDING ALCOHOL" on them. I'm actually amazed they're allowed to wear that stuff at Epcot. To be honest it made me want to avoid the F&W Fest in the future.

Does anyone know if its true they are not stamping the books this year? I heard there are stickers in the middle of the passport that you put on the corresponding country..

That's true, they don't have stamps anymore. It's an honor system with the stickers instead. Honestly it was so hectic and bonkers last week that they could barely keep up with getting food out much less stamp passports.

Thank you for clarifying.. We are going in 10 days, but will be staying far away on the weekends.. We would usually stroll around world showcase early afternoon on weekdays and give the book to our son to collect them.. Much less hectic and I couldn't even imagine trying to get stamps on the weekends

The below picture was from an October weekend in 2012 and I've heard its gotten worse!
