Food and Wine Festival Question

While planning my upcoming trip for November, I was thinking about how much I am looking forward to the food and wine festival this year. It's always been fun, but now that I'm 21, I looking forward to it even more. The question is this, do they offer a sort of "pay one price" deal? I think (unless I remember incorrectly, if so someone please correct me) that in 2002 they had where you could buy a wine glass for a set price and get it refilled at the different booths. Does anyone know if this was true? I just thought I remembered seeing it (even though it didn't matter at the time since I was only 19). Last year, I know they didn't have it because my mom looked. I was also wondering if anyone knows if they'll have it this year? I'm really looking forward to this festival, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to afford to really appreciate it (I'm a broke college student who only works part time and has to pay my own way :( ). Thanks in advance for any information anyone may know about this.

Alcohol is such a profit point, i don't see how it would be economical, for them to offer it at a great discount. If they have such a thing, i would think it would cost quite a bit and/or involve a stamp card system or the like so that it wouldn't be unlimited.

Yes, having the festival and access to more alcohol doesn't discourage more drunks in the park, but imo, charging what a college student would consider cheap for unlimited wine is definately encouraging heavy drinking. So unless they've set aside their general policies towards alcohol in the parks and profit margins, i'd guess it wouldn't be as economical as you'd want it to be, so as to discourage most from taking advantage of it and turning maelstrom into girls gone wild norway.

I have been there to the festival the past few years, and I'm sorry to say, it's pay as you eat/drink!

There are ways to get around this, and it's an honest way! They will have beer companies (Sam Adams) that will have classes to learn how they make their beer (similar to Busch Garden's Beer School) and you can get free beer and other goodies there!

When you arrive, just read the guide and it should tell you. Last year we had a lot of wine and Sam Adams for free! Just be on the lookout! The peanut growers are also there with great free peanuts!

Have fun!

That's actually what I thought, but since I thought I'd seen it 2 years ago, I thought I'd see if anyone else knew of anything. Last year, my mom asked a cast member about this, and they acted like it had indeed existed at one point. But maybe I'm just crazy. :hammer:

I probably wouldn't get too much anyways. I am not in any way, shape, or form a heavy drinker and I'm sorry if I sounded that way. I'm not looking for girls gone wild or a cheap way to get drunk in Epcot. Nothing could be worse than walking around a theme park drunk (I like to remember my disney trips, plus I wouldn't want to have a hangover at the parks the next day and I've worked with drunks in amusement parks before, not fun).

Just wanting to experience food and wine for my first "real" time. Thanks for your input. I'll definitely have to keep the beer making seminars in mind, though I doubt that'll work either because it would probably be unfair to make the minors in our group sit and wait. I'll probably just sample a few things like always.
