Flying with pins question

Hey everyone.

We are flying out in 40 days!!! My 5 year old LOVES the pin trading in WDW, but I have a question.

We are going to be doing the magical express, and will head to the Magic Kingdom when we arrive. Our luggage however will be at the hotel later. My question is this.

Is it OK for my son wear his pin lanyard from last year, with the pins on it on a plane? The other option is to wait until later that nite (when the luggage arrives at the room) but I'm sure some of you know what it is like when a 5 year old is looking forward to something! Just wondering if anyone had a problem in the past.

Thanks!

Tom

Put the lanyard in your carry on bag. I had no trouble going to and from Disneyland this summer. I had my pins in a ziplock bag in the zipper pocket of my backpack. You should be fine. Dont forget to go into the disney shops at MCO (orlando airport) and pin trade with the cast members there too.

I dont know how strict the TSA is on pins now, but I would not try to wear them through security. Maybe just put them in your carry on. I know their wabsite (and most airline websites) have comprehensive lists of what is and is not allowed, but I didnt see them. If you do end up putting them in your checked baggage, depending on when you arrive, it may not take that long for your bags to be placed in your room. I know we arrived around 4:00PM, and our bags arrived within an hour, just as we were leaving to go to the parks.
