Thinking about making an ADR for Flying Fish for my trip in January. I've never eaten there and was wondering what your opinions are. Thanks!!

We had a really great meal there. Second only to Narcoosees, as far as our best meals on property. Obviously opinions differ - I don't want to give you sky high hopes - but it's definitely worth checking out.

Yay!! So great to hear that everyone is a fan! NYwdwfan, we love the Narcoosees/Cali Grille caliber restaurants so it seems like this will be a perfect fit! Glad to see you put it in the same category.

Thanks for all the help everyone!! :sohappy:

I did the chef's wine tasting when I visited there, but I am sure they put the same care into each meal. The restaurant is great and personally I liked the food more than California Grill.

Every time we go we have some weird thing happen that ruins it for us. More than once we are still in the middle of appetizers and the entree came out. I know a lot of people do the "get in, eat, get out" as quickly as possible, but not us. We hate that. Another time we sat there with entrees in front of us and no silverware for over 10 minutes before our server bothered to come check on us. It's happened enough that we skip it now.

I was genuinely impressed by the food and the service, but the ambient noise was absolutely unacceptable. I couldn't carry on any kind of conversation at all.

A high-end restaurant should have better noise baffles [it's not that hard]. I won't go back.

We hate the "get in, get out" atmosphere too. Why spend that much on a dinner you're going to rush through. Hopefully that won't happen to us. Thanks for the input!

You can always let your server know that you aren't in a rush and that you don't want them to put your entrees into the computer right away so you'll be a bit more spaced out.

one of my all time favorite places on property. we've been 2 or 3 times and have our adr for our upcoming trip just after thanksgiving. we like to do it on our dhs day. we just walk over. the food and service have been great each time. we've had several different meals including alcoholic drinks, apps, entrees, and desserts and have no complaints. the service has always been great. we noticed that the servers here seem to be a little older than at some of the venues so maybe that makes a difference (they don't seem to all be high school aged). the atmosphere is nice but still has a casual not stuffy feel.
