Florida Resident DVC Question

I have wondered if it is worth the $ for a Fla. resident to purchase DVC. We go 2-3 times per year, but we always get good Fla. resident hotel rates (on site). We don't need alot of room, there are only three of us. And we do like daily housekeeping. We pay aprox. $100.00 per night when we go and we only stay for two or three nights at a time. So we are spending $400-$600 per year on accomodations, which we can get even cheaper if we wanted to, there are so many deals out there (of site). And once my son is older, we may not be going quite so often. Can anyone give me a yearly cost for DVC to make the comparison to? Now, if it came with free tickets, I would jump at that offer. But we do get nice Fla. resident discounts on tickets as well. Can anyone offer any advice or info? Thanks!!!

What sold us on DVC was the spectacular, roomy accomodation that made us feel like we were at home. We have four kids and my wife and I wanted our own space which meant at least two hotel rooms You'll have to run the numbers making the assumptions that make sense to you. For example, way back in 1992, when we bought, I compared DVC with two rooms at the Yacht Club. And DVC won big time and "paid for itself" in a very few years. You're doing the right thing by being honest about your costs to stay in Orlando. Compare what it would cost for you to stay if you didn't have DVC with the cost of enough to stay in a similar room. I suspect from what you've said that DVC won't make sense for you but you never know. Good luck
