Florida Resident discount...

We were planning on going to Disney World in the next couple of years and staying on the Disney property. My wife has friends that live near there. If we just make reservations for the hotel rooms, we could get her friends to get the tickets to the theme parks for us, right? And we can save $ on the theme park tickets? Does anyone think that is possible?

No. You need to show Florida ID to get the Florida resident discount. If your friend was to get you tickets they would be in their name. If you ran into any issues such as loosing the tickets or them not working you would have to produce ID before they will fix the problem.

But if they were with us the whole time we were there it would work?
Even if they are with you they can still not be put in your name as they will have to produce a Florida ID for every Florida resident ticket they purchase. Disney is pretty clear on the matter. You have to be a Florida resident to get a Florida resident discount.

It's called a Florida Resident Discount for a reason. You MUST be a Florida resident, if you're over the age of 18 you will absolutely be required to demonstrate proof of residency. C'mon on people is this really a difficult concept to comprehend? It's not called the "well if you know a person who lives in Florida discount".

There are basically 4 promotions for discounted tickets. Military (active or retired), Passholder, Florida resident and Canadian resident.

Ask yourself a question, do YOU live in Florida? If yes then you get the discount, if no then you DON'T get the discount.
