When I was in Disney last, I heard a bunch of rumors. One of which was that Flik's Fun Fair (which is in Disney's California Adventure) is coming to the Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know if this is true?

I also heard that in honor of Disneyland's upcomming anniversary, every park is going to receive a ride or treatment that relates to Disneyland in some way. In MK its Flik's fun Fair. In Epcot it will be Soarin' located next to the land. In Animal Kingdom it will be Expedition Everest (which seems to be a lot like an updated and more technologically advanced Matterhorn). As for MGM, its the Stunt Show from Disneyland Paris. This anniversary looks like it will be the next big celebration in WDW. Maybe will get a parade back in Epcot!

I dont think MK will ever get A Bugs Land.
1)Theres next to no room in that park
2)It doesnt need it
3)I think ABL was a last minute thing that was to little, to late, and if Disney were to add to the MK, they would think it out, and do it right
4)I have heard far more complaints for ABL than positive reveiws

imo, its not gonna happen

Sounds like a crazy internet rumor to me. Can't quite see that happening. Redoing HISTK with a Bug's Life theme might be nice, but I don't think it's worth it to spend all that money to do that when the playground is popular enough as is (to be honest, they could theme a playground to a junkyard and kids would still love it. )

Rumors are rumors. I don't know if this is true or not but I don't see why they would want to put another land in the MK. THere is enough there already for people to do.

While I have no information at all on Bugs Land coming to MK, I can say two things on this one...

1. MK has LOTS of room for expansion. Back in 2000 WDI did a land assignment project, and MK was designated to be expanded 85 acres west, 44 acres north and 18 acres east.

The 2 main expansion areas are...

- Around 20k and into Fantasy Land
- Behind Big Thunder Mountain

2. MK is getting close to guest capacity, and the only way to increase the number of guests per day will be to add additional lands. They will have to do this at some stage to continue to increase attendance.

Well, you would like to think Disney would increase the size of the park as guest numbers rise, but they certainly haven't at Disneyland--that park is already beyond guest capacity, esp. with so many attractions closed, inc. Space Mountain, yet they don't expand (here, obviously, room is an issue, but there is some) and instead close more attractions. But, Disneyland has had 8 lands for quite some time now...it's high time we get our eighth land:) No "a bug's land", please--cute land w/ some kewl theming, but no rides anyone over age 7 would want to ride...and the Tower of Terror standing ominously over this land, its screams soon to fill it, is just creepy...regardless, a new land would just be skepticism at this point--Disney already has several E-Ticket projects in the works...

Well Kyle.. it's not like Disney has much extra land close enough to Disneyland Park to expand the park itself. They'd have to knock out backstage support facilities to be able to do that.

As far as MK... yes an expansion would be VERY cool and very much appreciated... but at this point, I'd prefer they fix the park they have rather than add more to it.

What I hope for is an update of Fantasyland...An entire redo. I mean, fix some things up, and put a show bldg somewhere behind SW, and between the train route, and what, you can fit two small dark rides in the building. Its a cheap way to update the MK, and add new attractions...Pinnochio and alice would work. I just hate to see Fantasyland in the state its in now

Yep, MK has a ton of room to expand.
Disneyland has only the Big Thunder Ranch/Festival of Fools area, and it's not really that large. Until you walk around DL and try to imagine new attractions going in, you really don't get a sense of how small it really is.
They might could do something really small in the old Motorboat Cruise area, but not much, and of course there is the whole sad Tomorrowland issue.

MK will add new lands, and it will probably happen before 2010. My favorite tidbit I've picked up is the possibility of the Mysterious Island from TDS to be worked in behind the 20K lagoon. That idea has supporters galore, but at this point that seems unlikely due to the other plans gaining steam for the lagoon.

Lastly, I like Flik's Fun Fair. Lots of charm there. Tower actually looks cool from Flick's. It almost enhances the sense of being the size of a bug.

They would hide them, but there is some room to build behind
current buildings, and then they could add more to that is needed.

I would love to have fantasy land rehabbed to be like the one at DL, more european and less carnival one. I seen it and i love it.

Yep, WRE would be great behind Big Thunder.

However, WRE is more likely to show up at Disneyland or DCA in one form or another. Mard Davis' WRE is long dead, with tributes to it in existing attractions.

the UFO show was dead for 2 decades before it was revived as Buzz Lightyear. WRE could do the same thing. Maybe brother bear could bring the right story to WRE.

What ever happened to the RUMORS of "Villain Mountain" flume ride splashing down into the old 20K Lagoon. I'm not asking about the status of the ride-- its obviously not on the forefront and is not financially needed at MK--- but you just don't hear the rumors about it like you use to!

It's funny how WE on these message boards create so much fantasy ourselves!!!!!!

DL may have little room to expand, but when half of Tomorrowland is closed, that certainly hurts guest capacity. People didn't think there was much room for expansion 10 years ago, but they fit in the massive Indiana Jones Adventure by moving some things around and snaking the queue all the way outside of the park. Despite Disneyland's lack of much land for expansion, WDI seems to be able to use what little space they have quite well. DCA certainly seems larger than 55 acres.

Regardless, I, too, would like to see our Fantasyland given the 1983-style update that Disneyland's received...and perhaps they could make a new villains land somehow extend from the Haunted Mansion around behind Fantasyland, giving the Haunted Mansion a more appropriate land (I've never thought it belonged in Liberty Square)...not sure how the land works here, but it'd be kewl to see a darker land expanding on the Haunted Mansion's atmosphere.
